I cloned the repository and ran ./configure. Now, I need to run sudo make install. Just try to make this file runnable: sudo chmod a+x /home/harshilsharma63/llvm/autoconf/mkinstalldirs Then try to clean the make and do it again: sudo make clean ./configure make sudo make install share|improve this answer edited Oct 5 '15 at 6:55 Byte Commander 24.6k1068130 answered Sep 12 '13 at 6:34 PeppeDAlterio 2,670199 add a comment| up vote 0 down vote You could try chmod a+rx /home/har

I'm not too fond of the universal rules of unix/linux and not too fond of user rights either. My best http://stackoverflow.com/questions/9106536/why-do-i-get-permission-denied-when-i-try-use-make-to-install-something guess is that the user I'm logged in as does not have the privileges to run make commands, but hopefully it's something else that's not permitting me to install. Why do I get Permission denied and what should I check or configure in order to attempt permission be granted? So, in this semester I got this new subject where we get to work with Discovery STM32 F4, and we are still in the phase of setting it up. But I have this problem in the beginning. When I try to compile this "blink" code I get this error: Error 127 So, as I got it so far, we are make error 127 using this shortcut command "make" to compile code, and we were given instruction to set it up as it's shown in images below: setup Can anyone see what's the problem here? gcc share|improve this question edited Apr 1 at 21:04 Filburt 10.2k73265 asked Apr 1 at 20:59 Emir 153 It can't find/execute arm-none-eabi-gcc (presumably the gcc compiler for that device) at the specified location. I've shown in second image ls of the directory where arm-none-eabi-gcc should be, and it's listed there. –Emir Apr 1 at 21:08 And also, gcc -v returns: No such file or directory –Emir Apr 1 at 21:08 add a comment| 1 Answer 1 active oldest votes up vote 2 down vote accepted Error 127 means one of two things: file not found: the path you're using is incorrect. double check that the program is actually in your $PATH, or in this case, the relative path is correct -- remember that the current working directory for a random terminal might not be the same for the IDE you're using. it might be bet
me like the installer is trying to find "v850-elf-ranlib" in your pathbut doesn't see it so it stops..You can check this by doing :% whichv850-elf-ranlibIf you get a path then you're good -- otherwise you need to fixyour path..-- RickOn Feb 18, 2009, at 9:27 PM, CHOOI CHUAN SIM wrote:I am trying to construct cross compiler for NEC V850( OS: kubuntu 8.10). But I see another messages like below: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Libraries have been installed in: /usr/local/v850-gcc/v850-elf/lib If you ever happen to want to link against installed libraries in a given directory, LIBDIR, you must either use libtool, and specify the full pathname of the library, or use the `-LLIBDIR' flag during linking and do at least one of the following: - add LIBDIR to the `LD_RUN_PATH' environment variable during linking - use the `-Wl,-rpath -Wl,LIBDIR' linker flag - have your system administrator add LIBDIR to `/etc/ld.so.conf' See any operating system documentation about shared libraries for more information, such as the ld(1) and ld.so(8) manual pages. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I have no idea what "make install" is doing. Could somebody please tell me the reason of the error and why set the environment path as above can avoid the error. Anyw
