Once done close all the processes of Adobe found in processes tab. After this please go to documents folder and rename Adobe folder(s) as Old_Adobe. So as a Creative Cloud member, I just imported in to Premiere Pro CC and went to export so I could get an MP4 to a client. This would take way too long (14 hours). Now, I own a Matrox MXO2 LE w/ MAX but dummy me didn't check for support for CC before uninstalling CS6. Long story error decompressing audio short, I have CS6 on another system, but it will not read the MPG file. It says "There was an error decompressing audio or video." Premiere Pro CC opened and worked with it just fine. So what's different? It's just a standard MPG file, right? VLC Media Player can play it. QuickTime can't. It's not just this file too. I have several and all are behaving the same way. These were recording with a TriCaster 850 Extreme. To verify this, I did some tests to and had absolutely no problems with getting MP4, MP2, and QT files to play in Premiere CS6 and CC as long as they were imported using Premiere's Import feature under the file menu. These files were recorded on a TriCaster XD850 Extreme running Rev4h. For both CS6 and CC (Windows) versions of Premiere Pro, the software was up-to-date as of today. Wondering if anyone out there could help me!!! I filmed an Indian Wedding a few months ago using a Canon XF100 which generates MXF files. However, one memory card became corrupt! After much effort, I managed to recover the footage, but it saved as MPEG Movie files. Here are the codec details from MPEG Streamclip: "Type: MPEG elementary stream Duration: 0:03:16 Data Size: 86.97 MB Bit Rate: 3.72 Mbps Video Tracks: 224 MPEG-2, 1920 × 1080, 16:9, 25 fps, 50.00 Mbps, 4:2:2(!), progressive Audio Tracks: Stream Files: i00001 part 1 of 18.mpg (78.82 MB)" There is no audio on these files and im not sure why. But this is not important, as i would only need the video for the edit. For editing, I use Adobe Premiere CS5 on Mac, and these clips do not import into the software. The error message that shows is: "There was an error decompressing audio or video" The files do play in VLC, but its very slow and only a few seconds long. I can, however, see the timecode and most clips say it is more than 3minutes long. but it only plays back a few seconds!!!! They do not play in any other video player i have. And they dont even import into Adobe encoder or sorensen squeeze so that i can convert the file! Ok, what i need to ultimately achieve, is to import the footage into Premiere and ensure it is all the footage, not just a few seconds! This all could be fixed by a very simple solution like a mis
