Likely this means some other process is interfering with the install. To get around this I restarted my machine and closed all other running processes. Every time I go to install a game, like Darkest Hour, Warhammer oneline, EVE-online, or anything really, when I run the .exe for the install it starts an extraction process and at some point in time during the extraction it stops and I get "Error decompressing data! I've *ever* had a problem updating AnyDVD. Downloaded latest version. Clicked to install (yes to license, etc.) starts to install and get https://forum.redfox.bz/threads/resolved-installation-error.26975/ about 1/2 through and get this message: "error decompressing data! corrupted installer?" And won't finishing installing. At "Details" last entry is "Extract:RegAnyDVD.exe" When I click on my desktop icon, http://isiforums.net/f/showthread.php/8135-Error-decompressing-data-corrupted-installer I get this: "Install ADVDDiscHlp()failed! No change. (note: my only internet connection is Sprint Mobile Broadband and there's a 5GB cap per month on data downloads. I know that *this* alone won't get me there, but with other things I do, I'd like to keep the downloads down to a minimum). Any other suggestions? Can anyone explain to me - in non-tech English - what's going on? Is this a problem with the file I'm downloading (getting corrupted somehow or did my OS go wonky?) BTW, I'm getting tired and cranky - so I'll probably go to sleep and check on this in the am. I've experienced this kind of issues in the past for the following reasons: - A faulty network card (if possible try to use another pc or another card) - A buggy network card's driver (try to update yours from the manofacturer website) - Some inet devices over GSM, like the usb-mobile modems. In this case I was forced to replace this device until I've found one that works. But I would recommend as a fail-safe if u don't want to dig in such topics to use the Torrent distribution. Since it uses a hash-check for small chunks, if one get's corrupted will be scheduled for redowload and finally you will get a valid installer. 10-17-12,04:56 PM #3 Tim Wheatley View Profile View Forum Posts View Blog Entries Visit Homepage View Articles Location USA (Central) OSWindows 10 64bit ComputerHome Built CPUIntel i7 6700K RAM16GB DDR4 GraphicsNVIDIA GTX 1080 Founders Edition Monitor(s)Triple 1920x1080 InternetAT&T U-Verse 18MB ConnectionWired ControlsThrustmaster T500 + F1 Addon ProductLifetime NicknameTim Wheatley Yep, was going to advise you to download the torrent, too.
