Error Decompressing Video Frame 0 A Codec-specific Error Occurred
for over 6 hours now, I am really desperate right now... I am just trying to edit some TS (h.264/ac3) files, i.e. cutting them and putting together a few files and inserting a few pictures. What I did: I demuxed the files in .264 and .ac3 files. Using avc2avi, I put all .264 files in .avi files. What I have now: An .avi and an .ac3. VirtualDub loads the .avi without any problems, I added an index with it and saved it as .avi again - No problems! I can view it with any media player and it is still in Full HD. Unfortunately, it can not handle .ac3 files... So I tried VirtualDubMod. At first I took and low quality .avi (640x480, no h264) and added an .ac3 stream to it and saved it again. It worked superb! Then I tried to load the .avi files that worked wonderfully with VirtualDub... But VirtualDubMod just gives me an error: Error decompressing video frame 0. A codec-specific error occurred. (error code 1)I can neither play nor edit the file. So one program can handle .ac3, but can not handle .h264. The other one can handle the opposite. I really have no solutions left and feel like having searched the whole internet for this... I am SO CLOSE to solving my problem, I just need VirtualDubMod to open the files that VirtualDub can without any problems! Btw, I have ffdshow installed and configured if this is of importance. Thank you SO MUCH! Oli Dark Shikari9th June 2008, 03:08The solution is to stop using H.264 in AVI. :p setarip_old9th June 2008, 03:13@olikl Hi! I believe that you'll be able to get VirtualDub to deal with .AC3 audio if you install the following:AC3ACM v1.2 by fccHandler Released October 22, 2005 This is version 1.2 of an AC-3 ACM Codec for Windows. Basically I've wrapped an Audio Compression Manager interface around the free liba52 library by Aaron Holtzman and Michel Lespinasse, and the ac3enc code by Fabrice Bellard from ffmpeg. This makes it possible to preview, decode, and encode AC-3 audio in VirtualDub (or almost any ACM client). roozhou9th June 2008, 05:06Try avi_mux_gui Placio749th June 2008, 06:21...Unfortunately, it can not handle .ac3 files... Can. 1. Decode AC3 audio > installed AC-3 ACM Codec 2.

Hey guys: Every time I open an .avi file to use VirtualDubMod to create an .ac3 file I get this error: *****Error decompressing video frame 0. A codec-specific error occurred.(error code 1)***** I am running Windows 7 64-bit. I have AC3ACM.acm 64-bit installed. I have AC3Filter installed. I have ffdshow installed and I think that's about all that's necessary. It worked fine when I was using http://forum.doom9.org/archive/index.php/t-138535.html XP Pro. I not sure what I am missing??? If so it might be easier just to demux it using AviDemux. If not, I'll let someone answer who is proficient with VDM. I haven't used it directly in awhile. I was starting to think I asked a far out question!!! Yes all the avi's I tried do have ac3 audio. If they didn't I wouldn't have a use for VDM. I will give aviDemux a try. I never used it. Are there any specific setting I need to know about to demux an avi? I've used VDM for about 10 years now so I would hate stop using it if this is a simple issue. Here seems to be where the issue lies. I was running ffdshow for use with multiAVCHD. This is a bluray ripping program. It converts mkv's into proper bluray files and folders. This was the codec I had installed when trying to extract the ac3 from the avi's. I also notice that WMP stopped functioning as well.(I didn't notice this immediately, so not sure which program caused it to stop. I unistalled ffdshow and installed Xvid(Koepi's) and VDM started functioning as normal. No more errors. So what I have to do now is uninstall ffdshow and install Xvid if I want to rip my avi's. And then uninstall Xvid and re-install ffdshow when I want to rip an mkv file to the proper bluray files and folders. This is time consuming and very red
:) a+ Titre: ok.... (I open the same .prproj file and try to link back the same .avi files I used.)I managed to link them anyway after I opened the project, only to discover that whenever I try to play the clip, the sound of the videos turned to high-pitched screeching - but the sound of the stereo audio-only files is all right. This is how it looks and sounds when I open it and link all my files back: PLEASE don't tell me to try to modify the files - those are THE files I used to create the project in the first place! Everything was perfectly fine, but after I reinstalled windows I suppose something is... missing from my system? Some codec, maybe?I can't import those files into a new project either - I get the same screeching, even if I try to Modify > Audio Channels into something else before putting them on the timeline.I am using 'Premiere Pro WDM Sound', and I don't have any other options. Installing and choosing ASIO4ALL makes ALL my sound disappear. I have Realtek High Definition Audio, latest driver. Windows 8. None of the devices are muted.I recorder the files with BandiCam. MediaInfo describes the properties of the audio track of those files as:ID : 1Format : MPEG AudioFormat version : Version 1Format profile : Layer 2Codec ID : 50Duration : 14s 928msBit rate mode : ConstantBit rate : 320 KbpsChannel(s) : 2 channelsSampling rate : 48.0 KHzCompression mode : LossyStream size : 583 KiB (3%)Alignment : Aligned on interleavesInterleave, duration : 24 ms (0.72 video frame)Interleave, preload duratio : 24 msWhenever I try to import them, Premiere processes them as '11025 Hz - 16 bit - Mono' with 1 audio track. I have the same question Show 0
