If I remove a particular pair of characters from nk.scm, the installer which is built works fine: http://swiss.csail.mit.edu/~jaffer/Alpha/FREESNELL-1b6-1.exe I have made larger changes to other files in the distribution, but this sensitivity to nk.scm remains. Corrupted Installer? posted by mujeresliebres on February 2008 - last edited February 2008 - Viewed by 3K users Flag So something weird is going on. I installed Sam and Max Season 1 on my laptop only https://telltale.com/community/discussion/4356/error-decompressing-data-corrupted-installer to discover that it wasn't running well because its an old laptop. I changed https://forum.redfox.bz/threads/resolved-installation-error.26975/ computers but the disc was no longer autorunning and it was saying Error "Only part of a ReadProcessMemory or WriteProcessMemory request was completed."So then I opened it through explorer and started the setup manually. But the install won't finish and I get the "Error Decompressing Data! Corrupted Installer?" message. It craps out at Extract SamandMax102.exe 18%. It error decompressing worked once and it looks like it would work on my roommates computer the autorun function worked fine on his. What is going on? 3 Comments - Linear Discussion: Classic Style Seg Flag Hide comment Can you try coping the Installer to the desktop and then run the installer? You'll need a total of 2GB free in order to do the installation this way, but it should sidestep the skipping issues your error decompressing data CD/DVD drive is having.Once everything is working and installed, you can delete the installer file. Posted February 2008 mujeresliebres Flag Hide comment Well I got it installed, but now its saying I need to insert the original CD. Since this is the original CD, I'm kinda at a loss now. Posted February 2008 Seg Flag Hide comment Looks like your disk drive needs a firmware update. If you tell me the make & model of the laptop computer, and the make/model of the CD drive itself, I can point you in the right direction on where to get any updates. To find your CD/DVD Drive make and model:1) Locate the 'My Computer' icon. This icon will be located either on your desktop, or in the Start menu.2) Right-Click on the 'My Computer' icon and select 'Manage'.3) On the left-side of the 'Computer Management' window, click on 'Device Manager'.4) On the right-side of the window, you will find a number of objects attached to your computer. Find the 'DVD/CD-ROM drives' section and click on the + sign next to it.5) A list of all the DVD/CD-ROM drives will appear. Please list each DVD/CD-ROM drive listed. I've *ever* had a problem updating AnyDVD. Downloaded latest version. Clicked to install (yes to license, etc.) starts to install and get about 1/2 through and get this message: "error decompressing data! corrupted installer?" And won't finishing installing. At "Details" last entry is "Extract:RegAnyDVD.exe" When I click on my desktop icon, I get this: "Install ADVDDiscHlp()failed! IDVDInfo2::GetDiscID hook not installed" The little fox at the bottom, however, still works, but shows version 6.5.2.2 Help? Cadaver314, Feb 10, 2009 #1 DrinkLyeAndDie Moderator (en) Exit AnyDVD HD, redownload the installer from the Slysoft website, and reinstall AnyDVD HD using that newly downloaded installer. No change. (note: my only internet connection is Sprint Mobile Broadband and there's a 5GB cap per month on data downloads. I know that *this* alone won't get me there, but with other things I do, I'd like to keep the downloads down to a minimum). Any other suggestions? Can anyone explain to me - in non-tech English - what's going on? Is this a problem with the file I'm downloading (getting corrupted somehow or did my OS go wonky?) BTW, I'm getting tired and cranky - so I'll probably go to sleep and check on this in the am.
