Error Opening Audio Device For Input Free Sound Recorder
7 Hone Premium and am new to the OS. I have Free Sound Recorder on my XP desktop and would like it on my Win 7 laptop, but I have dl'd and instlalled two different sound recorder applications and each gives me an error when I try to run them. - both error reports state that there is an error opening audio device for input - bad device ID. Does anyone have any thoughts on what may be responsible for the errors? I am assuming that Win 7 does not include a sound recorder app as I have failed to locate one so far. TIA. Click on downloads and download the program itself then click on plugins and libraries to download lame which adds the mp3 support. #2 Trailing Jack, Feb 8, 2011 #3 Trailing Jack Dr. Acula Joined: Jun 1, 2004 Oddometer: 1,172 Location: Clearfield PA I appreciate the reply but that program is way more than I need and I can't tell if it will record sounds found on the web or just line-in type things. Honestly, I only used the recorder to record music at free music listening sites or from youtube videos. I'm not big into perfect sound recording or playback, I just wanted the flexibility to record rather than download.
