Working with Crystal Reports 8.5 and an application called HEAT (7.0). I have several remote users who are trying to access reports through HEAT. They are receiving the error message:"Error opening Crystal Reports application object"None of the users have Crystal installed, so I can't have them try to run the report directly out of Crystal. Local users are able to run the reports, no problem. Trying to avoid the necessity to install Crystal on each machine because this is going to affect many more users and having CR installed is just not a reasonable option at this time.I've no doubt that the problem is with the application (HEAT) rather than with any reports. but the technical assistance for this application is...well, it leaves a lot to be desired, how's that?So I know it's farfetched, but I'm wondering if anyone knows of a potential problem that might cause an "application object"-type of error with an application using Crystal. I mean, is there some component of Crystal that I'm missing? Red Flag This Post Please let us know here why this post is inappropriate. Reasons such as off-topic, duplicates, flames, illega

In IFS, we are creating Crystal Reports for the reports that is not given by IFS. The problem is, I am using Windows 7 64 Bit and I need to install runtime files http://stackoverflow.com/questions/11575276/ifs-crystal-reports-error for Crystal Reports. Without this, when I try to get a report, I get this error: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/3377689/ifs_cp_error.JPG I talked some of the former employee and he told me that if I install runtime files for crystal reports, it will solve the problem. I searched the internet and unable to find any working installer for this. I have an installer, "Crystal Runtime File Setup.msi" but when i try to run it, it seems to extract its components but the setup screen wont show up. Is it because this installer is for 32 Bit or I have a problem with msi installer ? Anyhow, is there anything to make it work ? crystal-reports windows-installer activex ifs-erp share|improve this question edited Jul 19 '13 at 11:01 Gilles 55.9k15118180 asked Jul 20 '12 at 8:03 Cihan Egilmez 11 Well, actually, it depends on which version of Crystal Reports that IFS uses. If it uses Crystal Reports 2008, you're probably going to need to purchase a full license. That's what we had to do for our ERP solution (Epicor.) I honestly doubt

Handling Exceptions for the Crystal Report Engine Visual Studio .NET 2003 When you run error opening crystal Crystal Reports through your application, there may be times when the Crystal Report Engine causes an exception. When an exception occurs, it can cause an error dialog to appear or cause reports to stop processing. Some of the causes of an exception are: The Report Engine is unable to connect to the database. This can be because a database location or incorrect logon parameters have been passed to the Report Engine. It can also be because of other database errors such as the table being locked by another user, the database engine being improperly installed, or the table being corrupt. Incorrect data has been passed to a parameter. If a parameter receives incorrect data from code or from user input, it can cause the report to stop running. For example, a string value passed to a numeric parameter will stop the report from running. An error is found in a Crystal Reports formula. If one of the formulas in the report cannot be properly evaluated, an exception will be thrown. This can be due to incorrect syntax in the formula or another programmatic error, such as a divide by zero error. The Report Engine failed to open a report. This can happen if an i
