Depending on the Windows version you are using, you may also encounter files starting with API-MS-WIN-, and EXT-MS-WIN- as missing. These files are usually not necessarily needed by your application to run without problems. You can ignore tihs "error". This DLL seems to be delay loaded and is not found for this reason. I also have this "problem" in 100% perfect working exe / dll files. It is really not a problem Best regards Bordon Note: Posted code pieces may not have a good programming style and may not perfect. It is also possible that they do not work in all situations. Code pieces are only indended to explain something particualar. I have a main project that includes many libraries. Dependency Walker shows an error on 4 .dlls: Error https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/vstudio/en-US/8d8deb29-bb91-4c56-8d91-3bc1bd328221/ieshims-dll-error-opening-file-the-system-cannot-find-the-file-specified2-in-dependency-walker?forum=vcgeneral opening file. The system cannot find the file specified (2). Which is funny because the output of Visual Studio's linker clearly shows that the libraries have been found. Everything in the .exe is linked properly (all symbols are resolved). When I start the application I get a Windows error: The program has stopped working. I'm using the same API that was discussed in this question: Win32 DLL importing issues (DllMain). If I build in debug mode I get the error that is quoted http://stackoverflow.com/questions/12319834/dependency-walker-error-opening-file about memory initialization. Are the .dlls being included or is the problem that Dependency Walker can't see the .dlls? Is this because the relevant libraries are import libraries? c++ visual-studio dll dependencies share|improve this question asked Sep 7 '12 at 14:12 Derek 779627 add a comment| 1 Answer 1 active oldest votes up vote 2 down vote accepted The .dlls were being included. Dependency Walker just didn't know where to find the files. Adding the library directories to the system PATH variable allowed Dependency Walker to find the libraries. share|improve this answer answered Sep 11 '12 at 15:49 Derek 779627 I know it has been a long time, but do you remember how did you solve the issue? Why did the program stop working? I am having the same problem now and its driving me crazy –dasjkdj May 13 '14 at 7:10 There were two problems. The first one was simply that Dependency Walker wasn't able to find the libraries because it was not aware of their location on disk. The second problem is tied to the Abaqus ODB API. If you are using this API, I can elaborate on the specific issue further. –Derek May 13 '14 at 18:31 add a comment| Your Answer draft saved draft discarded Sign up or log in Sign up using Google Sign up using Facebook Sign up using Email and Password Post as a guest Name Email Post as a guest Name Email discard By posting you

I installed the complete SDK from the QT downloads page, installed it without a hitch. I'm using Qt 4.6.2 with MinGW, and Qt Creator 1.3.1 After aligning all my other DLL's, I was able to get a full and successful build. However, when I try to execute the
