Error Opening Imis Standard Data File
trobbins iMIS Community | iMIS Hello, We're having an iMIS and Citrix issue that we're not able to resolve. It all began when one user received the following error message:“Error opening iMIS Standard Data file (iMISSTD.DF1). The file's read-only attribute may be set. Click OK to exit.” But our network tech can find the file when logged in as users who receive this message. So the file is there, iMIS just isn't finding it. This is not happening to all users, just a few (about 3- 4), but we're worried that it will become more widespread. A network tech also received the message: "A new iMIS workspace cannot be started. You may have exceeded your license count. Click OK to exit.” when trying to open imis.lbr in the LBR folder. Any suggestions? Our licenses look ok, as do the permissions on the folders. We're running Citrix XenApp Version 5. Two ways to fix this On October 19th, 2010 Bruce Wilson says: We've encountered this several times. Basically, iMIS requires write access to all the LBR and DF1 files. There's two good ways we've found to fix this: A. If your Citrix guy is really smart, he can configure Citrix to automatically virtualize this file for each user. I'm not sure how to do this, but I understand it basically tells Citrix to make the file appear writeable by everyone without actually modifying the file on disk. B. Give each user their own copy of the main iMISdesktop files: LBR, DF1 and Omnis7. Put a copy in their roaming profile perhaps -- disk space is cheap. -- Bruce Wilson Director, Technical Services RSM McGladrey, Inc. login or register to post comments Two ways to fix this On October 19th, 2010 steve_karlin says: Thanks Bruce.
