If it isn't then you can run in to all sorts of issues with Java's security model, although they are normally reported as security exceptions. Are you sure that the JDBC drivers are in the correct place on your web server and are correctly referenced by the applet tag? Hope this helps, Geoff Reply With Quote 07-17-02,14:03 #3 Indigo4267 View Profile View Forum Posts Registered User Join Date Jun 2002 Posts 10 in response to your suggestions thanks for responding! Just to answer your questions, about the web server database server one, i'm looking at my applet in applet viewer, so that doesnt' apply i guess? and both are on my machine, like my machine is the database server, adn it has applet viewer.. in repsonse to
We connect to the database via a home grown connection pool, from which we've managed to connect to Interbase, Oracle and Firebird databases. We are trying to connect to Microsoft SQL Server 2000 via Microsofts JDBC driver but are failing with http://osdir.com/ml/java.jetty.support/2002-07/msg00117.html the above error. When we connect via a standalone app, everything works. As http://www.verycomputer.com/158_8b389c58bf996193_1.htm soon as we copy the microsoft .jars into our WEB-INF/lib directory the above error occurs. Has anyone any suggestions? I'm pulling my hair out here. Regards Ian Newby Thread at a glance: Previous Message by Date: Re: Re: Bugzilla and Jetty 4.0... (Change > directories for child processes that is...) What about java.lang.Runtime.exec(command,envp,dir) ????? Should we just always pass the dir of the location of the error opening loading command? I'll have a look to see if it will work? cheers -- Greg Wilkins
