See this page for some suggestions on how to ensure you're using an account that can access every mailbox. share|improve this answer answered May 19 '11 at 18:23 nedm 4,68242244 Yeah as per nedm's request, I went through the link. I re-enabled the user account object, and un-hid it form the Global Address List. Now the PST export worked fine. So it seems besides the mail store permissions you need the user account to be enabled and un-hid from the global address list. Thanks, nedm!!! P.S. The user account who'

Join Now Hi, I am on the verge of breakdown with this! I've tried and https://community.spiceworks.com/topic/127058-exmerge-permissions-problem tried and I cannot get ExMerge to work. I am trying to remove mailboxes from the store that are no longer required. Whilst they can be deleted, I would rather have a backup of them for future use. Each ttime https://community.emc.com/thread/191653?start=0&tstart=0 I try, with whatever account I use, I get the exact same error Error opening message store (MSEMS). By default domain admins and exchange admins have deny on Send as and Receive as permissions. There is some info here http://www.msexchange.org/tutorials/ExMerge-Recover-Mailbox.html I was able to work around it by creating new AD user and assign this account needed permissions as showed in the article. Then just run exmerge under this account and it should work. 0 Anaheim OP the1paulcole Feb 4, 2011 at 9:08 UTC It maybe should but I still haven't been able to get it working. Here's what I've done so far. - Created a brand new user in AD which is only a member of Domain Users. - Opened up System Manager, drilled down to Servers, right-clicked our server and within the Security tab, added the user account and gave it Allow Send and Receive As permissions which has filtered down to the Mailbox Store. - Checked the Advanced tab to make sure there are no Deny permissions set for this user account of which there aren't - just the send as and receive as permissions set to Allow - logged the user onto the Exchange server (SBS 2003) and run ExMerge which errored about pulling back the list of information stores - Went back to System Manager and used Delegate Control on First Administrative Group to give userManagement Converged Platforms Data Protection Infrastructure Management Platform Solutions Security Storage Dell Products for Work Network Servers Education Partners Programs Highlighted Communities Support » Connect » Developers » Partners » Downloads » 日本語コミュニティ EMC Community Dell Community A AppSync Application Xtender Atmos Avamar C Captiva Celerra Centera CLARiiON Cloud Tiering Appliance Connectrix D Data Domain Data Protection Advisor Disk Library DiskXtender Documentum E ECS eRoom G Greenplum H Host Systems I InfoArchive Isilon ISIS Document Imaging L Leap N NetWorker P PowerPath Prosphere R RecoverPoint Replication RSA S ScaleIO Secure Remote Smarts SourceOne & EmailXtender EMC Storage Analytics Symmetrix U Unity V ViPR Controller Product Communities > Avamar > Discussions Please enter a title.
