This is used to find the ports and thier names from V2.0.0.70 onwards. At the time, all chipsets had a serial port, and the key always existed, but http://www.zive.cz/poradna/dance-ejay-7-a-windows-7-hp-64biz/sc-20-cq-444495/?consultanswers=1 today they don't, and you might see the message until your port is detected. If you do have a serial port installed then: Make sure you have a serial port installed and you can find it in device manager control panel -> Hardware and sound -> Devices ->Device Manager -> Ports If it is there then check in regedit for the key windowskey+r -> regedit -> look in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\HARDWARE\DEVICEMAP\SERIALCOMM Does the key exist? Are there any ports there? If https://sourceforge.net/p/realterm/discussion/228939/thread/e361619c/ the key does exist, then perhaps you are not running realterm with enough permission to see the key in the registry? Does Realterm actually open the port? (RT is only using the registry key to fill the port list) What happens if you run RT as admin? (startmenu -> realterm -> right-click "run as administrator") Please try these things firt and report your results here - you don't need to email me.... Do state what OS version you have. Then, try a later development version, the error message has been removed, and the installer tries to make RT run as admin. Development versions are at www.i2cchip.com/realterm Last edit: Simon Bridger 2016-05-12 If you would like to refer to this comment somewhere else in this project, copy and paste the following link: Anonymous Cancel Add attachments You seem to have CSS turned off. As I mentioned before, I went and installed a previous version of RealTerm, which operated without problems or error messages. To see if your solution would be of any help, I reinstalled the V2.0.0.70. But the error message has disappeared. I believe we wi
