I've tried many scripts without any solution. Many experts are talking about .txt file containing the below script, but to be quite honest I don't know how to execute it or even http://stackoverflow.com/questions/16015841/how-to-run-ftp-script-from-batch-file-on-windows am if I am creating the file correctly or not. All I need is to delete all the files on this container. open ftp://xxxx.xxxx.net myusername mypassword cd /bts/xxxx mdelete * quit windows batch-file ftp share|improve this question edited Apr 16 '13 at 10:53 kojiro 41k1064111 asked Apr 15 '13 at 13:02 user2282522 10113 1 As you already have correct FTP script and all you actually need is to learn how you execute it, please consider editing your question (or at least title) to say that (e.g. How to run FTP script on Windows?). It would be more helpful to other users then. –Martin Prikryl Apr 15 '13 at 13:30 add a comment| 1 Answer 1 active oldest votes up vote 4 down vote accepted Your FTP script looks ok. You just might want to replace mdelete * with mdelete *.xml, if there are also other files than .xml in the folder. To actually run the script, run ftp.exe from your batch file like: @echo off echo Running FTP to delete XML files... ftp -s:ftp.txt where ftp.txt is filename containing your FTP script (the one from your question). share|improve this answer edited Apr 16 '13 a

user MyUserName
MyPassword
bin
hash
prompt offAll these commands do is leave you at a command prompt to do what you want; you could of course script in any valid ftp command Logged ata_nitjsrTopic StarterStarter Re: batch file « Reply #3 on: February 13, 2009, 04:04:40 AM » Hi gpl,I have tried with your code but got following errorC:\Documents and Settings\XXXXXXX>ftp -n -s:Login.ftpError opening script file Login.ftp.Transfers files to and from a computer running an FTP server service(sometimes called a daemon). Solved Automated FTP Process Posted on 2009-07-24 MS Server OS 1 Verified Solution 13 Comments 1,010 Views Last Modified: 2013-11-21 I am wanting to automate a download from an external FTP server. And am using a script from a previous post on Experts Exchange: So below is the ftp.txt file I have created. USER ftplogindetails ftppassword cd /directorytohit binary prompt n mget *.* Then created an ftpdownload.bat file, which is below: @echo off cd c:\downloads ftp -s:ftp.txt FTPSITE del *.* But this does not seem to work, when I run the bat file I get the following within the command prompt. Error opening script file ftp.txt. Transfers files to and from a computer running an FTP server service (sometimes called a daemon). Ftp can be used interactively. FTP [-v] [-d] [-i] [-n] [-g] [-s:filename] [-a] [-w:windowsize] [-A] [host] -v Suppresses display of remote server responses. -n Suppresses auto-login upon initial connection. -i Turns off interactive prompting during multiple file transfers. -d Enables debugging. -g Disables filename globbing (see GLOB command). -s:filename Specifies a text file containing FTP commands; the commands will automatically run after FTP starts. -a Use any local interface when binding data connection. -A login as anonymous. -w:buffersize Overrides the default transfer buffer size of 4096. host Specifies the host name or IP address of the remote host to connect to. Notes: - mget and mput commands take y/n/q for yes/no/quit. - Use Control-C to abort commands. C:\downloads\*.*, Are you sure (Y/N)? Any ideas on how to resolve this, 0 Question by:ICHIOffkey Facebook Twitter Li
