HP wants $900 to fix it, which sounds excessive. Is this something I can handle myself? I work on my HP DesignJet 430, and service my own car, so working on it doesn't scare me. Where do I start?I searched the archives for this, and found someone with 50.2 fuser error p4015 and "Error 52.0" which was attributed by a respondent to the fuser, but the message number was different. Thanks! 50.2 fuser error laserjet pro 400 Respond to this 0 Most likely you need to just replace the fuser. Not really too tough to replace, with any technical skill. But NOT worth $900 for 50.2 fuser error hp 4700 HP to fix it. by mharris on Jan 18, 2006 at 3:33pm Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 That is indeed a fuser error. Easy to replace, just drop down the back cover, release the plastic strap which holds the door from falling down, 50.2 fuser error p3015 move to one side and the back comes off. Remove 2 screws and the fuser slides out. It can be tight on both sides so a small flat tip screwdriver moving a little at a time from each side will release it. You can get reconditioned fusers from partsnow.com or depot-america.com on advance exchange. Heck you could even order a maintenance kit from hp for a lot less money. Try the 2 souces above. by dmzcompute on Jan 18, 2006 at 3:34pm Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 Thanks for

We stock the fuser heating assemblies. It's cheaper to replace just that than a whole fuser. We have them in stock and even have a video that covers the entire procedure. - moe 0 You don't need the whole fuser, just the heating element. I can supply that and a video that shows how to install it. I can open the top cover and close it and it prints right. Any suggestions? by darrell fuller on Apr 25, 2007 at 8:37am Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 I don't know why it would work when you open and close the cover, but the troubleshooting procedure is the same.Do a half self test on the printer to isolate the problem. The purpose of the test is to see what the page looks like before it goes through the fuser.Print a page while feeding from the MP input tray, (Tray-1).When the paper has fed almost all the way in to the printer pop open the cover to stop the printing process. Open the printer remove the toner and inspect the page, if the ghost is visib

Fusers perform one function that is to melt the toner in to the fiber of the paperfusing assemblies do this by high heat and by pressure between the rollers located inside the fuser.Old Fuser TechnologyEarlier fuser technology required the use of a tungsten filament sealed lamp filled with an inert gas that heated up extremely hot inside an aluminum cylinder this was regulated by a thermostate to make sure it didnt get to hot or have a melt down " fuser meltdown" is what we use to call it the heat generatesbasically the same as a floor or space heater that you can purchase at your local store.New Fuser TechnolgyThe newer technolgy used by the printer manaufacturers is called a heating element and sleevethese fusers no longer need heat lamps and they warm up to temp within seconds using a ceramic glass element , the problem however is they now use a sleeve that resembles camera film and the sleeve has teflon coatings on it which causes the toner not to stick,Similar as your pansat home and after long periods of time this teflon coating wears off and then thetoner isnot being fused correctly to the paperprint qualitygoes down hill and in mostcases the sleeve fails as shown in the pictures below. The Photo below is a good picture of the newer heating element technology on topthe lower picture is the tungsten lampolder fuser technologyHow long Do Fuser's Last ?Fusers dont last long typically 100,000 to 200,000 pages is all there good formost printer manufacturerswill say they last longer and all printers are rated differentlyconcerning fuser life expectancybutby running envelopes and heavy paper stock through the printeryou will cause your printers fuser toshorten its life span ifyou want to prolong the life of your printer's fuser then be carefulof what you run through it.Pictures Below Are Just Examples Of Different Fuser
