to printers is the same error on an HP printer. Is this a generic error or just a coincidence? The error seems to point at the Fuser. It ran out of toner and while I was waiting for toner to arrive, the 970 Service error message appeared. When I received and installed the toner, it first indicated that it was "ready" but then it went back to teh 970 service message. To get to the fan is not easy, but cana be done. You have to remove the top cover (two srews in back and two screws on top), disconnect the menu cable, remove the lower roller which as the belt around it. Just use a small flat tip screwdriver on the right side to push it out of the holding clip, remove belt and slide out from left. Be careful as there is a sometimes a small plastic bushing on the left side which comes o
