If the part number on the fuser is the exact same as the one you removed, try powering off the printer and unplugging it from the power source for a few minutes. Plug it back in and turn it back on, then do a cold reset. Rare, but it does happen. Odds are higher of a bad fuser if it was a remanufactured. Talk to the provider you purchased the fuser from - have them send you a new one. 0 Message Author Closing Comment by:remcjr2007-12-18 Yes this was the problem and the issue is resolved. Glad I could help. michko 0 Message Expert Comment by:jeepjim20042008-01-11 Another thing to keep in mind, the maintenance kit for the HP LaserJet 4200 Series (Q2429A) printer will fit the LaserJet 4240/4250, but it will not work! You must use the HP LaserJet 4250 Maintenance kit (Q5421A), otherwise you will get a "Fuser Error 50.5". A bad fuser module will display "Fuser Error 50.4" 0 Write Comment First Name Please enter a first name Last Name Please e

Laser printer fusers adhere toner powder to a page using a combination of heat and pressure. Error 50.5 occurs when the fuser fitted physically but the printer has specifically identified it as wrong. Other fuser error 50.5 fuser errors are: 50.1 50.2 50.3 50.4 50.6 50.7 50.8 50.9 50.5: Faulty Fuser. 50.5 Inconsistent fuser (verify voltage model) This is usually a nice clear problem, you just replaced the fuser but have got the wrong one. The only other explanation might be that the connectors aren't mating properly. HP say: Verify that the connection to connector J82 on the DC controller PCA is firmly seated. Inspect the fusing assembly connectors, at the front of the assembly, and the connectors on the high-voltage power supply PCA. Look for bent pins or debris. Clean or straighten the pins if necessary. People neglect to get the printer model completely right and order the wrong fuser. Physically the fuser fits, but the printer shuts it down. This opportunity shouldn't exist with the P4014 / P4015/ P4515 range because they all use the same fuser. Unfortunately a new opportunity for confusion has opened up with the M601 / M602 / M603 fuser which apparently do
