Fuser Error 50.6
knowledge on other manufacture's equipment. Here's a great tip on how to reseat an HP Printer from our very own Queen of Tech and Service Manager Teresa Gray. HP 50.6 Fuser Errors- By Teresa Gray Many of us know that turning a copier or printer off then back on again will clear a lot of error codes and general problems. With Hewlett Packard printers you can go one step further. Many HP printers have toner cartridges, drum units and fusing units that can be pulled out then put back in. We call this reseating. One of our Bank customers has an HP (Hewlett Packard) 9050 printer at their one of their locations outside of Gainesville. Recently they had the above error code come up on the printer: Error 50.6 Fuser Error. Their IT Manager had turned the printer off and on but the error code came back. I told her to turn off the printer, reseat the fusing unit on the left side of the machine by pulling it out and putting it back in place, and then to turn the machine back on. When she did, the machine came to ready, and print jobs started printing out. She was very happy that she learned something new about her HP printer. I explained to her that she can do the same thing with her toner and drum cartridges as well if she ever saw an error code for those. To reseat an HP 9050 or any HP with a 50.6 error code: Turn the machine off. Open the cover exposing the fuser unit. unlock the blue tabs. Slide the fuser away from the machine and slide back into place. re-lock blue tabs. close the cover. Turn the machine back on. And, of course, if you still can't resolve the code, give us a call at 352-335-3542, and we'll get you up and running. While it is nice to truely know what's going on in the machine, not very many parts in the fusing units can be ordered. At the low-cost of the fusers it doesn't make too much sense ordering parts when refurbished fusers can be bought so http://www.bbos.com/how-to-fix-an-hp-50-6-fuser-error/ cheap. Plus, with the quality of most rebuilt fusers being better than what it has ever been it's not really a hard decision to buy one. With all that being said, the 50.6 fuser error message on the HP laserjet 5200 is a open fuser error. HP 5200/5025/5035 Fuser AssemblyTroubleshooting The HP 5200 LaserJet 50.6 Fuser ErrorFirst thing to try in troubleshooting the HP laserjet 5200 50.6 fuser error message is just turning off and on the machine. I http://www.fortwayneprinterrepair.com/wordpress/2011/11/20/50-6-fuser-error-hp-laserjet-5200/ replaced one last week that was giving this error every few weeks for a few months before they finally got sick of it and called me out to replace it. Second, check and make sure the power cable is directly plugged into a wall socket. These machines draw a lot of power so they should never be plugged into a power strip with other devices, battery back up, and make sure there are no other large equipment or heater type products on the same circuit. Heater devices include: coffe makers, copiers, laser or solid ink printers, and space heaters. Another thing to check if you just replaced it is if you were shipped the right fuser for the machine and voltage type. The 220v fuser fits in the machine but will not heat up properly giving poor print quality or possible errors like the 50.6 fuser error. Last thing to try is leaving the machine unplugged for 10 to 20 minutes and then plug back in and try again. If that fails then its time to replace the fuser. Conclusion About the HP LaserJet 5200 50.6 Fuser ErrorYeah, there are ways to check the OHM readings on the fuser thermistors but replacing the heating element will only save you a few bucks than replacing the whole fuser so I'm not going to go into detail. Also, the DC controller or power supply

It currently has a 50.6 fuser error, which I've looked up and shows that there is a problem with the fuser heater cutoff. However, I have tried with 3 fusers, and I keep getting the same error. I know that the fusers work as I've tried them on a 4550N, which uses the same fuser, and they work fine on that printer. Has anyone come across this problem and know how to fix it? -- Scorpio scorpio18, Oct 16, 2006 #1 Advertisements Jaimie Vandenbergh Guest On Tue, 17 Oct 2006 18:07:58 +0100, ">{daZza}<"
