ok. All gears are rotating free. When powering up the printer i can hear 2 clicks. There is no motor movement at all. Most likely a problem in the lower voltage power supply or driver circuitry ? Any suggestions would be welcome. Regards, Alex Respond fuser error hp printer to this 0 59.X PRINTER ERROR A main motor error occurred. Power is going in on the DC controller but only 0.6V DC is going to the main motor. Because i don't have the schematics i have made a bridge with a fuse resistor to the main motor and everything is working fine. A simple solution to this problem. However http://www.fixyourownprinter.com/posts/20091 i don't know if this 24V DC power is continuously available in standby mode. Sofar it looks good. A few hours in test will tell if it's ok. Thanks for the info. by unknown on Jun 23, 2004 at 5:05am Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 I thought I would post this because I have just been through this and if someone had posted it on the web it would have saved a lot of trouble.I changed the main motor, dc controller, psu and the cable between the motor and the dc controller and did not fix it.The 24V is routed off the DC controller through 2 contacts on the cover open switch. This is located on the sensor board (RG5-1846) hidden under the plastic bits hidden behind the dc controller. This is a safety feature, to cut out the motors when the doors are opened. If the switch is faulty, then you get this error. It also applies to the 5si, 8000 and 8100 printers. by hdc090360 on Mar 21, 2007 at 11:11pm Add comment Please sign in to comment If that switch was faulty, wouldn't you get one of those "close the printer cover" errors? I ask because I am now having this problem with an 8150 that I recently repaired. Origionally we were getting the infamous "50.1 fuser error." It turned out to be a LVPS problem and thanks to this forum, I was able to re-solder some weak joins on the LVPS and get past that error. I did several (100+ pages) test prin

Fusers are a consumable part and are sold as part of a maintenance kit; it is expected over the life of the printer you will replace the fuser several times. HP estimates average fuser life to last between 100,000 to 150,000 pages; but a fuser can fail much earlier depending on printing conditions, heavy paper jams, and the fuser error quality of the fuser installed. For a temporary fix, you can try turning your printer off and back on again. Sometimes the reboot will allow the fuser to reset itself and you can print a few more pages. If the 50.1 Fuser error message returns, it's time to replace your fuser. Also, on these LaserJet 5000 & 5100 series printers, when the fuser fails with a 50.1 error we fuser error hp recommend you replace the entire maintenance kit including the paper feed components, NOT just the fuser. It is very common on this model to see the rollers & separation pads wear out, even before the fuser fails. Paper won't feed properly, misfeeds can occur, and if paper jams inside the fuser it can damage the sensitive heating element in the fuser. Better to change ALL the maintenance kit parts at the same time as the fuser, than to just install a new fuser and have the new fuser damaged shortly after because of a bad paper jam.
