! Where should I look to resolve the problem ? Where can I get a diagram of the printer ? Thanks ahead for your help !!!! Respond to this 0 Error 50.2 is a fuser 50.3 fuser error warmup problem, most likely you've got an Engine controller board failure, the ECB switches the fuser 50.1 fuser error on and off. That ECB.....is it the board mounted on the riser near the RAM and IO ports ? by unknown on Dec 15, 2004 at 9:22am Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 LECC, no, the board you are looking https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fRUGJ1Khx5o at is the Formatter. What Brian is talking about is the main Engine Board which is sandwiched between the top and bottom half's of the printer. It does sound like an Engine Board problem, seeing as you have swapped out the Fuser. This is a major replacement job, expensive and you really need to know what you are doing. No job for an amateur. If you wish to have a go at the board replacement, I will be happy http://fixyourownprinter.com/posts/25706 to send you the Service Manual plus offer any practical advice I can. However, it is an expensive job and quite complicated. Trev by Trev Pearson on Dec 15, 2004 at 11:44am Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 Brian, Trev, First ... I want to thank you for your fast reply. I'll see how much the board retails....if it's too expensive, I will probably go for a brand new HP 4200N for under 2K $ (canadian) LECC by unknown on Dec 15, 2004 at 12:05pm Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 Brian, Trev, First ... The early models had a fuser problem too, the films shredded. HP resolved the problem with a modified design to the fuser. Something about endplate angles being wrong. Is the second most common fuser error found on this model. Why? More things can cause low fuser temperature fuser error than overheat errors. Below I will discuss a few things you can try to get your HP laserjet 4000, 4050, and 4100 out of its 50.1 fuser error and working again. For those of you that may need it, I will also provide you with instructions on how to replace the fusing assembly and a link where you can purchase a new fuser if needed. HP 4000/4050 Fuser 50.2 fuser error Assembly RG5-2661-000 HP Fuser for LaserJet 4100Troubleshooting The HP Laserjet 4000, 4050, and 4100 50.1 Fuser ErrorFirst thing to try in troubleshooting the HP Laserjet 4000, 4050, and 4100 50.1 fuser error message is just turning off and on the machine. Once in a while these machine will get a sudden drop in power through a sudden power outage and the machine immediately goes back and checks the temperature inside the fuser when it's not properly warmed up resulting in a temperature low state with a 50.1 fuser error. Other time having too many electrical devices plugged into the same outlet or having these printers plugged into a surge protector or battery back up can have the same effect. Too many devices on the same outlet can cause a sag in the voltage to all the devices. Whenever troubleshooting 50.1 fuser error in your HP laserjet 4000, 4050, and 4100 printer, HP and other technical resources will always want to make sure the machine is plugged directly into the wall and no other devices that draw a lot of power are on the same circuit as these machines.Advanced Troubleshooting for the HP Laserjet 50.1 Fuser Error in a 4000, 4050

I checked to make sure all connections are tight, no broken teeth. I'm hesitant to replace fuser core again, because that might not solve the problem, any ideas? Someone suggested the main board replacement, but it's expensive, is it worth it? Last edited by Scline30; 11-29-2006 at 12:32 PM. I think we're going to go for a new or refurbished printer. It's had a lot of problems with other things as well. It quit feeding out of the paper tray awhile back, although I replaced rollers, etc. when I received the maint. kit. At some point you have to cut your losses.
