the layer names have strict syntax on the allowable characters in the file names. The following are dxf file error allowed characters. a-z A-Z 0-9 $_- If you use other characters like (*&, etc. you will have this problem. AWR does not check the layer name the user https://knowledge.autodesk.com/search-result/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/Error-Invalid-or-incomplete-DXF-input-drawing-discarded.html entered when exporting DXF, so the user will need to watch for this. There are three ways to remove this error. Don't have any drawing layers with these illegal characters. If you want these characters in your drawing layers, in the export mapping tables for the DXF type, you can specify the name of the https://awrcorp.com/download/faq/english/questions/DXF_Files_AutoCAD.aspx layer used in the DXF file. Use a string here that has legal characters. You can set an option in the Layout Options so that AWR does not export illegal characters. This option is from the menus under Options->Layout Options..->Export/LPF tab->Remove illegal chars in layer names If you use the Export Library command to save a DXF library from the layout manager (Layout tab at bottom of left panel), then there is no "top level" drawing in the DXF file, and each cell is an AutoCAD "block". Blocks do not open automatically when you open the file. In AutoCAD, the BLOCK command followed by ? will list the blocks in the file, or you can use the Insert > Block command and then select the desired block in order to place it on a drawing. Embedding fields in an AutoCAD table using .NET » June 08, 2007 Creating an AutoCAD table containing block images using .NET Further to the previous post showing the creation http://through-the-interface.typepad.com/through_the_interface/2007/06/creating_an_aut_1.html of a simple table, this shows how to add a column that contains a preview image of a particular block definition. I had to modify the code somewhat to open the https://books.google.com/books?id=pHXARUsV0UMC&pg=PA1140&lpg=PA1140&dq=autocad+error+in+block+record+table&source=bl&ots=MRYrSK4jdX&sig=knSfGW1Z-yjBKGeKc0ja9YcJpu8&hl=en&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwiJx_GMoK_PAhWMx4MKHSzOC0UQ6AEIYjA block table sooner than we did before (I tend not to leave it open for longer than I have to, but in this case we want to check it for appropriate invalid or block definitions earlier on, while we're creating the table). Then I added a simple check, to see whether a block definition corresponding to our "name" field exists for a particular row, and if so, we add a reference to the block table record in the 4th column of the table. Here's the updated C# code: using Autodesk.AutoCAD.ApplicationServices; using Autodesk.AutoCAD.DatabaseServices; using Autodesk.AutoCAD.EditorInput; using Autodesk.AutoCAD.Geometry; invalid or incomplete using Autodesk.AutoCAD.Runtime;namespace TableCreation { public class Commands { [CommandMethod("CRT")] static public void CreateTable() { Document doc = Application.DocumentManager.MdiActiveDocument; Database db = doc.Database; Editor ed = doc.Editor; PromptPointResult pr = ed.GetPoint("\nEnter table insertion point: "); if (pr.Status == PromptStatus.OK) { Transaction tr = doc.TransactionManager.StartTransaction(); using (tr) { BlockTable bt = (BlockTable)tr.GetObject( doc.Database.BlockTableId, OpenMode.ForRead ); Table tb = new Table(); tb.TableStyle = db.Tablestyle; tb.NumRows = 5; // Added an additional column for the block image tb.NumColumns = 4; tb.SetRowHeight(3); tb.SetColumnWidth(15); tb.Position = pr.Value; // Create a 2-dimensional array //
