If you attempt to switch to the Location document that was originally set in the Notes.ini, the "Invalid or Nonexistent Document" error will again occur. This may be necessary if the first Location document in the address book is the corrupt one. Admin database key ring; keyring; kyr; non-existent; invalid or non-existent; invalid or nonexistent document; ERR_INVALID_NOTE Technote (troubleshooting) Problem When you http://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21106171 work with the Server Certificate Admin database (certsrv.nsf), the error "Invalid https://www.razumny.no/2009/01/lotus-notes-invalid-or-non-existent-document/ or nonexistent document" occurs when you select "Create Certificate Request" or when you create a key ring. This error can occur if you open the Server Certificate Admin in the Lotus Domino Administrator client from the Files tab, go to the view "Create Key Rings & Certificates", invalid or then select "Create Certificate Request." You are, however, able to access this database using the Notes client. In other cases, this error can occur when you use a Lotus Notes client to access the database on the server and create a key ring. Cause This error can be reported for a number of reasons. This technote specifically addresses when invalid or nonexistent the error occurs with certsrv.nsf database. Resolving the problem This issue has been reported to Quality Engineering as SPR# DMKA4CTKPX. You should use the Lotus Notes client to perform most tasks in the Server Certificate Admin application, as indicated in the Domino Administrator Help file. If you wish to use the Lotus Domino Administrator client, you can open the database using File -> Database -> Open instead of the Files tab. In some unusual cases, you might need to recreate the certsrv.nsf database to resolve the errors, or use a local copy of the Server Certificate Admin database instead of the copy on the server. For example in one case, an administrator had made several attempts to set up SSL using the Server Certificate Admin application. To be able to continue without error, the administrator deleted the Server Certificate Admin application (certsrv.nsf), recreated it, and renamed any existing .STH and .KYR files. Notes: "Invalid or non-existent document" Published 22/01/2009 By Aleksander Nordgarden-Rødner As I have noted earlier, Lotus Notes is not famous for having easily understandable error-messages, quite the opposite in fact. However, when you think a bit about it; some messages are clearer than others. An example of this is the "Invalid or non-existent document" error. The problem in this case is that an entry in an NSF-file (a document in a database) is corrupt. This can happen for various reasons. There are two ways to fix the problem, one server-side, and one client-side. Server-side On the server console, run the command load fixup %NAME OF DATABASE% This will remove the faulting documents from the index and from the database Client-side Some databases can be replaced client-side (basically any databases located in the Data catalog of Notes). To replace them, simply rename the file, then start Notes. Notes will then recreate the file from the .ntf. NOTE: This will delete any and all entries in the database. As for where it is located, that should be something you can find out by right-clicking the database, and looking at the properties. 05/03/2015 Reply mkamoski1 OK, I give up- where is the database? 05/03/2015 Reply mkamoski1 Ok, so after some more hunting, I found the "*.nsf" files here… C:\Users\MyUserName\AppData\Local\Lotus\Notes\Data\ …and this is on Windows 7 for Lotus Notes 8.5 here. I renamed all the "*.nsf" files (as suggested above). I soon discovered that the "names.nsf" cannot be renamed in this way, and it is required for Lotus Notes startup so I set that one back to its original name. I started Notes, when to Calendar, tried to create a new Meeting and got the dreaded "invalid or non-existent document" error. I got the same error when trying to create a new Appointment. So I am still blocked on this bug in Note. One thing that I should note is that I am working on a travel computer that sometimes sits docked connected directly to the LAN at work and sometimes it is used when working from home WFH and connected to the internet via WiFi and then connected to the LAN via
