However the server runs and even the warned files are in the database. When I stop the mediatomb server and start it again manually, there are no error messages in the logfile. In this case we will not detect the system locale and use a fallback to ISO or ASCII charsets. When you run the server as normal user, you usually have your locale set, so we detect it correctly. If you know that your filesystem uses UTF-8, then you should specify that via the

But rsync does not like special or wide characters like a tilde above the n in jalapeno. I can't seem to find an answer on this one.
