again" message when I take or view pictures. The message displayed when pictures are viewed is "Image cannot be played" how to format sd card on a white background. The SD card worked when I used it in my Dell laptop where I could transfer, add/delete pictures. But it wouldn't work when used with my camera. The message displayed when a picture is clicked is "Write error" followed by "Enter SD card again" on a white background. Filtering is NOT enabled. Formatting the card returned the same write error. I have a Sandisk Ultra 16GB card. Any help is appreciated. Thanks. My first thought was to suggest formatting the card again. You have tried that, to no avail. It might be too-simple, but is it possible that the card is in the "locked" position? Do other cards work ok in the camera? Inquiring minds want to know! Cheers. -- hide signature --The older I get, the better I was.... It could be a bad memory card, first try formatting the https://www.ifixit.com/Answers/View/22930/Why+does+a+message+appear+saying+'write+error'+when+taking+a+picture card (this would erase any images but if there are none on there you wouldn't need to worry about it). If that doesn't work maybe try another card. The contacts between the camera and the memory card could be bad or dirty. Take out the card and make sure the area where the metal contacts on the card touch the contacts the camera are clean and free of debris. Also, make sure the card is in properly. If none of those work then it is most likely a problem with the camera itself, in that case you would probably have to take it to be serviced. Was this answer helpful? The problem is the most likely a corrupted file on the memory card or less likely a failed card reader in the camera. The approach to troubleshooting this depends on how you save your photos. If you are carrying pictures on your camera card that have not been saved to your computer that you wish to try to keep, then you will need a new card to test the camera operation. Cards can fail or "hang up" for a number of reasons. Stopping a transfer mid-stream, a simple momentary glitch in the camera function, accessing the card with a printer or computer, etc... If you have a card reader on your computer, try to access the card and check to see if there are unreadable files there.
