Ask Your Own Camera and Video Question Customer: replied5 years ago. i have tried a SD 2 gb card, a Sd 16 mb card and also a 8 Gb SD HC card. Expert: Russell A. replied5 years ago. Ok, no matter what you do, the 8gb SDHC card will not work in this camera. The file structure is too different. First, reset the camera to the default settings using the instructions below. The connections in the slot may be worn from age or even more likely covered with a thin coating of residue or dust blocking full contact. I've searched around and have seens this problem alot. Is there a known fix, or firmware update to solve it? I have a 2 GB Patriot High Speed SD card. Better memory card locked yet, is there a way that I can reformat it from within the S2? No options seem are available form the menus, record or playback. I don't currently have a card reader to try the reformat. I tried searching Canon's site, but to no avail. Thats pretty low.
