Aug 20, 2012 Hi all, I have one memory card which suddenly will why does my camera keep saying reinsert memory card not work on my two Sony cameras. I have a DSC-HX5 and an A77. I'm sony camera unable to read memory card confident it is not an issue with my cameras they both read my other 2 SD cards fine. The card in question is Fujifilm sony cybershot sd card problem SDHC 4 card with an 8gb capacity. I can use this card in my Apple Mac and in Windows laptops so the card is not faulty. The option to format the card is greyed out within the A77's menu https://us.en.kb.sony.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/38596/~/error%3A-reinsert-the-memory-card-is-displayed-on-the-lcd-screen. (for this card only, my other SD cards can be formatted this way). I cannot offer details with my Nx5 as the battery is currently on charge. The issue must be to do with the cards formatting or corrupted data? I have reformatted to FAT32 and also performed a secure 7 times overwrite erase to try and ensure the card is free of data, but I still get the error mentioned in the title of this thread on https://www.dpreview.com/forums/thread/3255175 my A77.The card type should not be an issue as I have a non SDHC card which works fine on my A77.Any suggestions?-- hide signature -- Prejudice is ignorance Samsung NX5 Sony SLT-A77 If you believe there are incorrect tags, please send us this post using our feedback form. In reply to eagle_cfc • Aug 20, 2012 Update, I have just tried recreating the folder structure of one of my other SD cards which has been formatted by my A77, but no success, I get the same error. Also worth adding that as well working in all the computers I've tried the SD card also reads and formats fine in my friends non Sony camera, but he did notice the card still had data on it?So it must be some sort of corruption that only Sony cameras dislike? As mentioned before all my other SD cards work fine in my Sony cameras so the issue is not the cameras being faulty, more an issue reading this card for some reason...Also this card became unreadable in my HX5 before I owned my A77.-- hide signature -- Prejudice is ignorance Reply Reply with quote Complain Denis247 • Senior Member • Posts: 1,493

It's doing it with the old and new one. Share this conversation Expert: RUSSTING replied4 years ago. Hi,There is a good chance that the card is not being recognized due to residue or dirt on the camera's card contacts. Remove the card from the camera and clean the card metal contacts with alcohol and leave them lightly wet, then work the reinsert memory card card in and out of the slot multiple times. Next use canned compressed air to blow out the slot since sometimes the plastic spacers can break off of the cards and block the connection. . Please let me know the result. Please keep in mind that my diagnosis & solutions provided are directly dependent on the accuracy of your description of the problem. As with any "do it yourself" fixes, success is a "team effort", since I can't see or touch the camera, and relies on the customer's manual dexterity and ability to follow the instructions well. If, and only if my answer to your question is helpful and you are Satisfied with it, please leave Positive Feedback. I'm getting the Memory Stick Access Error "c:13:01" message and from what I've seen on the internet, this is a very common problem with Sony cameras. The problem is this: I can get to the photos, etc (via a memory stick reader), but I cannot use my camera to shoot photos anymore. In my other Sony camera the stick works fine, but in the F707 it does not. I have so far tried re-inserting the stick several times and turni
