I have a SanDisk Extreme 8gb card, so that was about 2000 pictures I deleted from the card. After reinserting the card into my camera, the shots remaining bracket read "124"... meaning that I have 124 pictures left on an 8g card. So when my card quickly became full again, I again imported the pictures onto my camera and deleted them from my card. When I reinserted the card once again, the shots remaining bracket read "3

My Camera Says Memory Card Full But Its Empty
Hi All, I am in a bit of a panic because my 7D has sandisk memory card says full the above errors associated with my CF function. The top display says "Err CF" and the back display says "Cannot write to new memory card says full card." Anybody seen this before and found a way around it? Here is what I have tried: I have 3 CF cards, all have the exact same behavior error as mentioned above. The camera will lock https://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20110726225218AAb9gnR all functions except for menu operations. I have removed the battery and replaced it. I am able to read the cards while in the camera and view files on them, so I am pretty sure that they are not the problem. I removed the card and changed the mode to allow shooting without the card and the camera behaves normally and the shutter will fire, AF works and IS works on my lens. https://www.dpreview.com/forums/thread/3515991 I have changed operational modes using the mode dial, no difference in behavior I have changed from my normal RAW mode to JPG and back with no change in behavior. Live view has the same error messages. Removing the lens and replacing it has the same error messages. I have inspected the pins on the DF connector internal to the card slot and they look normal, no bent pins. That's all I can think of now, I have done other things though. Despite being http://www.thephotoforum.com/threads/card-full-error.287811/ empty, my Canon 60D is reading the Sandisk Extreme SDHC I card as "Card Full". Is http://cpn.canon-europe.com/content/education/infobank/camera_settings/eos_error_codes_and_messages.do there something I am overlooking. I have used the card just a few times in last one month. What might be the problem and its solution? Full name of the card is SanDisk Extreme[SUP]®[/SUP] SDHC UHS-I Cards_8GB, SDSDRX3-8192-A21 Jun 13, 2012 #2 480sparky Chief Free Electron Relocator Supporting Member Joined: Mar 8, 2011 Messages: 21,108 Likes Received: 7,448 Location: Iowa Can others memory card edit my Photos: Photos NOT OK to edit Is it locked? The battery in the camera is also full. The message in the camera is still the same that the "Card Full". Information from the card on the computer is Capacity: 7.94 memory card says GB; Available 35.9 MB and used space: over 7GB. My conclusion is that the card is corrupted. This is the second SD High Speed Card that has the same issue. I hate to sound like an ass, but are you sure it's empty? Have you formatted it in camera? Jun 13, 2012 #6 cguron TPF Noob! Joined: Sep 11, 2011 Messages: 163 Likes Received: 3 Location: Washington, DC Can others edit my Photos: Photos OK to edit I am certain, the cards are empty, but do not know how to format the cards on my camera, Canon 60D or on my MacBook Pro. Any pointers. Jun 1
