Posted: 19-Aug-2013 | 4:05AM • 11 Replies • Permalink Hello, While surfing the web just now, an alert message was flagged up from Norton stating the above alert code, followed by 'unable to norton error 3039 and 65549 fix'? I did a quick search on these forums but can't out exactly what it means. Also checked the log for it and there was no other information to go on. Was wondering if anyone here might have any ideas as to what it means exactly! Using NIS 2013 V.20.4.0.40, W7 Home Prem SP1, No other real time protection programmes installed. Haven't had any issues whatsoever since upgrading from NIS2012 several weeks ago. Sometimes Norton users get an error called norton error 3048,3. I got it once a few weeks ago but ignored it. I just got the error message again. This time it tried to fix itself and failed. It was about 20 minutes after manual updating. Norton advised me to download the Intelligent Updater which is 197M and took about 20 minutes. I ran it, and it said it was successful. But a few minutes later, the 3048 error norton internet security box appeared again. I followed further Norton advice and downloaded Norton Power Eraser which is very small, and ran it. It restarted the whole computer and scanned for about 5-10 minutes. I forgot what it said exactly, except that it found nothing. I did research and this error message is just a broad way of saying something is wrong with the updates. It shouldn't be like this, and the fixes should be automatic. My computer seems to be okay now. Does anyone know anything more specific about what the problem is? 05-03-2013, 08:55 PM Tek_Freek 22,449 posts, read 31,111,373 times Reputation: 29647 What is Norton IS 19? I know what NIS is because I use it exclusively, but 19? This says a lot: Quote: Sometimes Norton users get an error called 3048,3. I got it once a few weeks ago but ignored it.
