Sometimes Norton users get an error called 3048,3. I got it once a few weeks ago https://support.norton.com/sp/en/us/home/current/solutions/v63747322_EndUserProfile_en_us but ignored it. I just got the error message again. This time it tried to fix itself and failed. It was about 20 minutes after manual updating. Norton advised me to download the Intelligent Updater which is 197M and took about 20 minutes. I ran it, and it said it was successful. But a few minutes later, the 3048 error box appeared again. I http://www.city-data.com/forum/computers/1855613-norton-internet-security-blew.html followed further Norton advice and downloaded Norton Power Eraser which is very small, and ran it. It restarted the whole computer and scanned for about 5-10 minutes. I forgot what it said exactly, except that it found nothing. I did research and this error message is just a broad way of saying something is wrong with the updates. It shouldn't be like this, and the fixes should be automatic. My computer seems to be okay now. Does anyone know anything more specific about what the problem is? 05-03-2013, 08:55 PM Tek_Freek 22,570 posts, read 31,386,531 times Reputation: 29805 What is Norton IS 19? This error occurs when Norton Live Update detects that it is supposed to download and install a new patch/update, but the patch file itself is not available for download at the particular Norton Live Update server that your computer is connected to. To solve the issue, Norton Live Update just needs to be ran at a later time, once Norton has put all of the proper update files on all of the Norton Live Update subservers. This is a moderately technical issue, but the summary is that Norton Autofix is not a hacker, and there is nothing wrong with your particular computer. The error is caused by an issue on Norton's software servers and they are aware of it and working on resolving the issue. Ask Your Own Software Question Customer: replied4 years ago. In fact - yes I am satisfied with your reply, so I believe, that I can now rely on Nrton Autofix" and Support Websted. However I thought that such an answer was free of charge as a part of Nortons Support Service, as I have just bought this Virus protection earlier this year.
