Error: "8505,129" appears on my Norton product To fix this problem, restart your computer. If you continue to receive this error, you need to check your Network proxy settings and run an advanced scan for potentially unwanted applications with Norton Power Eraser. STEP1 Check the Network proxy settings Press the Windows + R keys to open the Run dialog box. Type in the following text, and then press Enter. inetcpl.cpl Internet Properties window is launched on your computer. On the Connections tab, click LAN settings. In the Local Area Network (LAN) settings dialog box, under Proxy server, ensure that none of the check boxes are selected. You must run an Advanced scan on your computer with Norton Power Eraser. Click OK. Click Apply and then click OK. If the problem persists, go to step 2. STEP2 Configure network connection settings on Windows Press the Windows + R keys to open the Run dialog box. In the Run dialog box, type the following and then click OK: ncpa.cpl Right-click the network adapter that is currently active, and then click Properties. If the User Account Control prompt appears, click Yes or Continue. In the Network Connection Properties window, under "This connection uses the following items", click Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) or Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4). Click Properties. To specify DNS server address settings, click Use the following DNS server addresses. In the Preferred DNS server and Alternate DNS server boxes, type the two Norton ConnectSafe IP addresses. Preferred DNS: 199.85.126.10 Alternate DNS: 199.85.127.10 In the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Properties window, click OK. Click OK. If the problem persists, run a scan with Norton Power Eraser in step 3. STEP3 Run the Norton Power Eraser - Unwanted Application Scan Download Norton Power Eraser. Click Save. Uninstalled and reinstalled, now https://community.norton.com/en/forums/new-error-message-8505129 there is no Internet on my laptop. Tried to activate Norton and it gives me this error message 8505,129. My Internet is O.K. on my other PC's and Tablets. Not sure what to do next? Now My Norton Icon on the taskbar disappeared and I can't open Norton at all. :( Also the Norton short cut on the desktop will not open. I removed it with the Norton removal tool and reinstalled it with no difference in the result. I'm getting error 8505, 100. The version of Norton Security Suite is 21.5.0.19. He removed the Norton Security Suite with the Norton removal tool in safe mode then rebooted and reinstalled the software.
