Wasn't saving to a server, but to a 2-gig jump drive. When I saved it to my mac's hard drive, no problem. Is there a short answer to why that happens? One person suggested that this file may be corrupted since I've been bouncing back and forth between 2 different Illustrator programs. I use CS-4 at work, save as CS-3 format then continue working on it at home. I tried copying each layer to a new fresh doc. but still get the error code. Is there a way to fix this file? Both back-up files I have behave the same way. A file I/O error has occurred. I uninstalled and reinstalled and doesn't work. It looks like this error happens when the file size exceeds 1GB. Will see if I can confirm that elsewhere. EDIT: Actually, read this and see if it applies. However, it doesn't suggest what could be done if its over that limit. I was also looking at installing ADOBE Pro and see if it happens.
