Here's the link to the Microsoft page if you need help: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/315...It could also be a piece of hardware that's malfunctioning, as I've noticed you've said you've reformated, but the problem is still there. Report • #2 maureenbopp May 12, 2010 at 10:48:53 Thanks, I'll do that. But how do I know if a piece of hardware is malfunctioning? Or if it's a software program's driver, how do I know that? I like learning this stuff. Drives me nuts not to know! ;-) Thank you! Report • #3 xryanx May 12, 2010 at 19:14:36 Very welcome!, and if it's software related to a certain piece of hardware (such as a driver), go to the Control Panel click on Performance and Maintenance and then go to System > Hardware, then click on the Device Manager tab, and it will show each device listed, if there's an exclamation mark on a piece of hardware or etc in yell

Software/Hardware Errors on Startup Oct 29, 2007 #1 Kurdt Staff Emeritus Science Advisor Gold Member My parents PC is having a problem I've never encountered before and I have no http://www.instructables.com/answers/What-is-instruction-0x593fb06f-referenced-memory-/ idea what could be causing it. Just wondering if anyone here had experienced anything similar. The PC is running windows XP service pack 2. It seems to start up fine but when o error you sign into your desktop there are loads of application errors like Rundll32.exe and all the usual startup stuff. After that its unusable since windows explorer keeps crashing. Apparently before this occured they were updating WMP 10 to WMP 11. Also the error box states there was an I/O error status in 0x000009c. I've had a good look on the internet for similar problems but nothing o error status is quite the same. Hopefully one of you guys will have some knowledge about whats happening Anyway I'm thinking its either hard drive or memory but I haven't got any spares to test at the minute or something to do with that download. Any suggestions? Kurdt, Oct 29, 2007 Phys.org - latest science and technology news stories on Phys.org •Game over? Instructable »ANSWERS : Technologysearch answers:Ask a QuestionWhat is "instruction 0x593fb06f referenced memory at 0x593fb06f. I/O error status of 0xc000009c" supposed to mean?My WinXP laptop is giving me hell and I dont know why. I attempt to do almost anything system-wise, explorer crashes and gives me a message that looks a bit like this"instruction 0x593fb06f refrenced memory at 0x593fb06f. I/O error status of 0xc000009c" Some text cant be recognized like the majority of the text on the arduino.cc website, I cant go into the My Computer or C:/ folders without it crashing, and there are probably other things that I havent found yet. I need some help before I do something incredibly stupid to this computer, like playing flaming baseball with it or using it as trebuchet ammunition. That's what service contracts are for.orksecurity6 years agoReplyWhat it means is that a program error occurred when executing from a particular location in memory, causing it to attempt to access another chunk of memory that it was not supposed to have access to. The error status explains what caused this to be considered an error. To understand what it's actually trying to tell you, you need an assembler-level understanding of the operating system and hardware. So the real translation is "Something is broken, and it's nothing you're likely to be able to understand. Whatever you were doing, stop doing it, or take the machine to an expert who can help you figure out why it isn't working properly." Apple calls the
