required data was not placed into memory because of an I/O error status of 0xc000000e. I have restored and had window repair, but nothing seems to work. Not sure what I have recently downloaded, I don't download much. I do have back up disks for my computer, but not really sure what to do. But I'm not scared to try and fix. Hoping it's not a virus. Thanks! See the instruction at 0x referenced memory at 0x. the required data was not placed into memory More: I/O error status of 0xc000000e. Here's the link to the Microsoft page if you need help: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/315...It could also be a piece of hardware that's malfunctioning, as I've noticed you've said you've reformated, but the problem is still there. Report • #2 maureenbopp May 12, 2010 at 10:48:53 Thanks, I'll do that. But how do I know if a piece of hardware is malfunctioning? Or if it's a software program's driver, how do I know that? I like learning this stuff. Drives me nuts not to know! ;-) Thank you! Windows Vista IT the required data was not placed into memory windows 8 Pro > Windows Vista Hardware Question 0 Sign in to vote i/o error status of 0xc000009c windows 10 Hi I have had an HP laptop running Vista Home since Dec 2007 and been problem free error 0xc0000185 windows 7 until beginning of May. Thats when I first got the following error - The instruction at ?????????? referenced memory at ??????????(same). The required data was not placed into http://www.computing.net/answers/security/io-error-status-of-0xc000000e/29955.html memory because of an I/O error status of 0xc000000e. This happens for various applications mainly iexplorer.exe and explorer.exe and with various memory references. When it happens I usually have to remove the battery and power cord from the laptop for a short while before I am able to reboot and get going again. I did a system restore which https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/windows/en-US/fbb730c7-f771-478b-916c-bdfa45aa8475/memory-error?forum=itprovistahardware seemed to cure the problem but it has returned a couple of weeks ago. Now I can't system restore further back than the last one i did. It works fine for a few days then maybe crashes 3 or 4 times in one day. Only use laptop for internet or e-mail but there doesn't appear to be any correlation to webpages or programs used. I have run the Windows Memory Diagnostic tool and a full Norton 360 scan without finding any problems. Is this likely to be a software problem which can be solved? Or a hardware problem in which case I can try going back to PCWorld? I would prefer not to pay them to sort what hopefully might be something relatively easy. Normally it's either a hardware device or driver. The random nature of the behavior is troubling,

Then suddenly the desktop starting freezing and giving error messages. The freezing and errors took about 1-2 hours to show up each time I restarted the computer. The Application Error "Referenced memory at 0x??????????? The requested data was not placed into memory because of I/Ostatus 0xc000000e. The firmware was at 0002. After some issues I was able to finally update the firmware to 040H. The problem seems to be gone now. Strange how it took 15 months forthis issue to crop up. I surmise it must have something to do with hours of use and writes to the SSD.
