One outlook 2003 signature advanced edit not opening word or more ActiveX controls could not be displayed because either: 1. Your current security settings prohibit running ActiveX control on this page, or 2. You have blocked a publisher of one http://www.pcreview.co.uk/threads/active-x-error-with-signature-in-outlook-2003.3426862/ of the controls. As a result, the page might not display correctly. And then you click OK. Once I click OK the Signature of the person who sent the message appears. Does anyone know how to "fix" it so that I don't get this message each time I open an email from this person? thanks Wednesday, August 15, 2012 6:02 PM Reply | https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/office/en-US/db601565-e912-40cd-8767-7c8b247d2c32/microsoft-outlook-2003-activex-control-message?forum=outlook Quote Answers 0 Sign in to vote Hi Chandra, The message you got is to help protect you from viruses that might be contained in HTML-format and RTF-format messages, both scripts and ActiveX controls contained in these kinds of messages are deactivated automatically. Currently we are not able to enable the ActiveX controls for designated sender. If you want to enable the ActiveX controls, you'll have to enable it for all emails you got which is not recommended for security consideration. To do so, click Tools, click Options, click the Security tab, click the drop down menu to change the setting from Restricted sites to Internet. . As a result, the page may not display correctly". This is probably caused by your Outlook email signature. This will usually occur if you used the advanced edit to edit your signature. It is caused by the smart tags Word adds outlook 2003 into the HTML. The easiest way to fix this is to recreate your Outlook signature from scratch without using the advanced edit. This worked for me. Categories: Tips Tags: ActiveX error, Outlook, signature, Word Comments (0) Trackbacks (0) Leave a comment Trackback No comments yet. No trackbacks yet.
