EDIT: Looks like people are now reporting that you only need to uninstall KB3097877. I haven't gotten a chance to test yet. I needed a fast fix and I knew others would need it too. But based on reports, it's probably safe to say it's outlook ntdll.dll crash only KB3097877 that's causing problems EDIT #2: MS released a new version of this update same KB3097877 that works just fine. I wouldn't worry about approving at this point. See best answer for more details. No problems until today, but it keeps crashing. I can hardly get started in it. I was moving an email to a separate file folder (something I do often) when it started. Both W7 and O2K10 are fully updated; for that matter, they are a company image, and this is about the dozenth I've pushed out. User clicks on sent items in new pc, outlook hangs with the following error: Problem Event Name: APPCRASH Application Name: OUTLOOK.EXE Application Version: 14.0.4760.1000 Application Timestamp: 4ba8fefd Fault Module Name: ntdll.dll Fault Module Version: 6.1.7600.16695 Fault Module Timestamp: 4cc7ab44 Exception Code: c0000005 Exception Offset: 00033f63 OS Version: 6.1.7600.2.0.0.256.4 Locale ID: 1033Click to expand... Also happens when she attempts to attach anything to a new email. Those are the only two instances I can find where the error occurs, but they are a doozy. Things I've done: 1. Replaced the computer with a second W7 image. 2. Decreased .ost size to less than 200,000 kb, well below our limit. 3. scanpst.exe found errors, but it also states that it fixed them. 4. deleted email profile, archives, everything, started over. 5. tried both cached and uncached mode. 6. verified that the profile on the xp box is looking at the same exchange server as the w7 box (remember, the xp box has no issues). 7. run in safe mode (outlook, not the entire pc) and disabled all add-ins. I've redeployed the xp box for now until I can figure this out. Sort of stumped in that it doesn't happen in o2k3 at all. Obviously it's something in her profile as it's going across systems. But I'm dipped if I know what it is. thanks, v valis, Aug 17, 2011 #1 Sponsor valis Moderator Thread Starter Joined: Sep 24, 2004 Messages: 70,897 couple things wrong there......first, outlook.exe is a destination file; you can't look inside it for a file called 'winwor.exe'. And second, there is no file called winwor.exe. I'm assuming you meant winword.exe? valis, Aug 31, 2011 #2 valis Moderator Thread Starter Joined: Sep 24, 2004 Messages: 70,897 anyone else? valis, Sep 1, 2011 #3 valis Moderator Thread Starter Joined: Sep 24, 2004 Messages: 70,897 el bumpo. valis, Sep 8, 2011 #4 Couriant James Trusted Advisor Joined: Mar 26, 2002 Messages: 31,436 to confirm. this was an image that was pushed out? and is it happening to just 1 user?
