before? Thanks. Pat Humphrey, Mar 9, 2009 #1 jaybna Messages: 3 pstopdffilter/pstocupsraster failed with err number -31000 I am getting a similar error. I can print to network printers but not a local one attached by USB. Any advice appreciated. Thanks in advance, Jay jaybna, Sep 11, 2009 #2 B JamesL Messages: 3 Me too, I believe the problem started when I upgraded to Parallels 4 and at that time I was using Mac OS 5X and a USB HP printer. Since then, I have upgraded to Snow Leopard and a wireless Canon printer. When I first attempt to print a page, the error message reads: "Error: pstopdffilter/pstocapsraster failed with err number -31000". I then delete the page sent to the printer and try to print again, and often it works. Very annoying. I have rebooted Parallels, rebooted Windoze XP, rebooted my Mac. Same results. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. What is an "err number -31000"? So I was start with Adobe and see what solutions they have to offer. Also, maybe I missed it somewhere, but you didn't say what OS you're using. I'll assume mac since I thing that I've seen that error related to Mac and Adobe Reader. One thing you might try is to use "open with : preview" and print from there. Don't know if that will work or not, but it's worth a try. In any case, I would still inquire through Adobe for possible updates or fixes. Hello, my name is canon printer error XXXXX XXXXX I am here to assist you.If your printer is working fine with other pdf files it may be something in that one that the printer wont recognize or the file is corrupt in some way. You can try switching to preview view and then print from there and see if that works(mac preview the pdf file). Its an issue with adobe for mac that they havent quite worked out yet(if ever, been there for like 10 years). You can also try removing your printer from the printers menu and then running an update from the apple menu. Then readd the printer again. That sometimes works with this error but most of the time not. Also try resetting your print system on the mac, that may help.Resetting the printing system in OS X LionTo use the Reset Printing System function in Lion, follow these steps: Choose System Preferences from the Apple menu. Choose Print & Scan from the View menu. Hold down the Option key while clicking the "-" (Remove printer) button. If no printers are currently added, hold down th

After I unboxed it, I followed the steps in the maual, but at boot-up the MFP stopped at Error Code 5030. I have turned the power off and reconnected the plug several times but the same message is coming up. I have not found error codes specifically under MG8220, but for all series (61xx, 62xx, 81xx) they are the same. According to my research this code means - "Scanner home position error; Scanner error; Flatbed motor error; Scanner light source not turned on; Scanner electric circuit error." And in fact, the lamp lights up and goes off for half a sec
