You can do a partial reset of the printer with the hp officejet 6500 following steps. Let me know whether this works for you, and we can go from there. There are two procedures here - the first is a soft reset, and the second is a hard reset.Soft ResetWithout turning off the product, disconnect the USB cable from the rear of the product. NOTE: The USB cable connects to the port on the back of the product. The port is labeled with the USB icon ( ).Figure 1: Example USB connection (your product might not look exactly the same as this example)Remove the cartridges from the product.
