We used https://discussions.apple.com/thread/6866813?start=0&tstart=0 to print to it via this business' network, which worked fine. Now we want to http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=705055 use it on our own LAN, and have plugged it via ethernet into our router, but it won't print. We have three iMacs; mine is a mid 2011 model. None can print to the Dell printer -- when we try it tries to find the printer and then says 'Printer not responding'.I've tried everything I can think to fix it, printer not including:• Resetting the modem• Restarting my computer• Resetting the printer, including to factory settings• Resetting printing system in system preferences and re-adding printerNothing seems to work. Printer works if I plug it directly into my machine. I printed out its network statistics, and I have its IP address. When I ping it, though, I get the error:36 bytes from lo0.lns20.mel8.on.ii.net (150.101.32.54): Communication prohibited by filterVr HL TOS Len ID Flg off TTL Pro cks printer not responding Src Dst4 5 00 5400 4ccf 0 0000 3e 01 ad0d 192.168.1.1 192.168.0.123I searched the forums and tried Bonjour Browser, but it doesn't show up in that. I also tried WakeonLan -- the printer shows up there, but without a Mac address, and when I wake it up nothing happens.Pretty much out of ideas. If you haven't already, take a look at the suggestions in the article linked below and try adding the printer as an IP-based printer as shown in the article linked below.OS X: How to connect to an IP-based printer or AppleTalk printer via IP - Apple SupportTake care,-Jason Helpful (0) Reply options Link to this post by nomoreklondikes, nomoreklondikes Mar 11, 2015 5:55 PM in response to Jason L Level 1 (0 points) Mar 11, 2015 5:55 PM in response to Jason L Hi Jason,Unfortunately I can't get past step on

This printer (Canon Pixma mx310) was working just fine on my Win 8 machine until yesterday, when it started telling me the printer was offline. I've uninstalled the printer and re-installed it and selected it as the default printer, I've downloaded a new driver, I've restarted everything and I can't get the damned thing to print and all the computer can tell me is that "the printer is in an error state." The printer status is "printer is not responding." Duh. Does anyone have an idea what I could try next? Does it work with another computer? Have you rebooted the computer and/or the printer? How are you connecting the printer to the computer (usb or through the network)? Uninstall every piece of software you have for it. Reboot your computer. Reinstall drivers and software. Replug printer. If it's still in an error state, hit it with a bat. (I don't know of any "self-test" of the printer. The manual doesn't tell me there is one.) The printer itself doesn't appear to know it has a problem. There's no LCD message to that effect. Everything tells me that the computer doesn't know the printer is there. I keep getting suggestions to unplug the USB cord and then plug it in again, as if the connection isn't there. I keep doing that. I may use that video as a guideline for beating the crap out of this damned thing. (one of the guys in
