Last week we installed new printers at a client of ours (Dell Lasers). One user when she goes to outlook and prints says "Printer Not Ready" I disabled addons and booted into Outlook.exe /safe and same issue. I ripped out Office 2003 and reinstalled (used MS Cleanup) https://www.experts-exchange.com/questions/24047665/Printing-from-Outlook-Printer-Not-Ready.html I created new profile (they are on exchange) I installed printer locally using TCP/IP instead of share off server. What else can I do, nothing has fixed it. Thanks! 0 Question by:Fluid_Imagery Facebook Twitter LinkedIn Google LVL 16 Best Solution byAdamRobinson On whatever computer is hosting the printer, go into the printer properties, then go to ports. Make sure that "Enable bidirectional support" is not checked. If it is, uncheck it. Reboot that computer is necessary. See if this eliminates the issue (it does 99 times out of 100 when I've seen it). Normally this is due to the printer/spool waiting for commands it will never receive. 0 Message Author Closing Comment by:Fluid_Imagery2009-05-20 That seemed to have done the trick, sorry for not accepting it sooner. The result will be a PS file (probably with a PRN extension). Open the file in Distiller. If you do, then check for AcroTray running in the background. It is a necessary part of the print process unless you like taking the extra steps I just mentioned. Like Show 0 Likes(0) Actions 2. Re: "Printer not ready" error message.
