Published on Mar 20, 2015In the Project 64 emulator, there is a common problem people have where certain textures are missing from surfaces. For example, in Super Mario 64, shadows, the castle doormat, and how to fix missing textures in project 64 the sun carpet inside the castle are all missing unless viewed at specific angles or distances. The problem is the fault of crappy Intel graphics chips that don't render these surfaces properly. This video shows a way to fix the problem without having to buy a new graphics card.Quick note: If you're using the Rice Video Plugin with Project 64, you do not need to use this method. Instead, in Project 64 you can go to "Configure Graphics Plugin", go to the DirectX tab, and find the drop-down menu that says "Depth Buffer Type". Change that from "16-bit (def)" to "32-bit (signed)" and click OK, and you're good to go. However, if you're using the default Jabo's plugin, the 3D Analyze method is the only known solution.3D Analyze download:http://games.softpedia.com/get/Tools/...Thanks to Xcodeplus and V1del for discovering this method:http://forum.pj64-emu.com/showthread....Oh yeah, I suppose I should have listed the Cup Girl[1][2] in the Cast at the end, but I forgot... Mentioned 0 Post(s) Graphics Error... HELP PLEASE. Anyone know any reason I might be getting this error? I get it for every game. If I restart the emulator, I still get the error. If https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P5wvbTe1ZfA I ignore the error and press okay, it just comes back again... and again... and again. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling P64 and rebooting my computer, but the problem persists. This emulator worked fine for me for the last week without an issue. The error only began showing up today. Not just this one. How would I go about changing plugins? IF you focus on the center of the snap shot you'll notice triangular-like shapes moving outward, to the left and to the right. One time, I shrunk the "C" partition using "Disk Management" in Windows, and the graphics problem went away. I could never figure out why that helped the problem, but it seemed to help. However, it doesn't work anymore. Most likely I need a better video card but I was wondering if there are any other project 64 graphics ideas as to why this is happening. Are there any Operating System adjustments I can make that might fix the display?[attachment deleted by admin] Logged quaxoGuru What, me worry?Thanked: 127 Computer: Specs Experience: Expert OS: Windows 7 Re: Project64 awkward Graphics Display « Reply #1 on: March 06, 2009, 02:26:43 AM » What chipset is your on-board graphics card using? I believe the driver is the Intel Graphics Media Accelerator DriverI forgot to mention.........I recently had Windows 7 Beta installed on this computer instead of Vista. After installing Windows 7, I installed Project 64 and tested out Zelda to see if this graphics problem is any better and it WAS better. The graphics on some other games were improved as well. I don't know how this info. might be helpful, but I'm sure every little bit helps.I put Vista back on the computer because Win7 Beta is going Obsolete beginning of August, and I'm trying to build a network in my home. I simply don't want to put in the time to configure Win7 when I'll have to uninstall it so soon... Not to mention that it's still in Beta.
for many years following. It was one of the best experiences, and I had the privilege of meeting some of the greatest people while learning a lot about the N64. Visit the PJ64 homepage for more information. It can be tricky to find a reliable place to download this so I'm making a copy of PJ64 1.6 available here. Download Project64 1.6 Emutalk Forum Homepage Additionally I've made available a patch to the 1.6 release that includes updated plugins. This is not an official project release! It is includes many of the improvements from Project64 1.7 beta, in addition to others. The reason for releasing this patch is that I will no longer be working on Project64 and wanted to share these last fixes which improve many n64 games. There will not be any additional releases or source code so please do not ask. To use this patch you need to first install Project64 1.6 using the link above, and then apply the patch after using the link below.
