Before, I had PJ64 working fine and dandy. I reinstalled it, got the
Project 64 Plugins
ROMs I wanted, but when I tried to play it, I get this: "Error. Plugins are not initilized." I am using the Direct64 plugin, and
Directx Runtime
the rest are the regular plugins that come with the program when you install it (the Jabo plugins). Can anyone help me? blake0812 View Public Profile Send a private message to blake0812 Find all posts by blake0812 #2

Posts: 16,045 It's possible that error comes up even if all the plugin fields are filled in, so just go to the Options under Plugins to find a way to re-apply current settings anyway to make sure they initialize. It might also be particular to a certain plugin in which case you should try the Options menu Config-xx settings for directx download each of the four types. __________________ http://theoatmeal.com/comics/cat_vs_internet HatCat View Public Profile Send a private message to HatCat Find all posts by HatCat #3 27th March 2011, 10:02 PM Mini007 Project Supporter Junior Member Join Date: Mar 2011 Location: Bethesda, MD Posts: 16 Just from browsing through the forums here, it seems several people are having the same issue and they all seem to have windows 7 (none are clear on the version but that seems irrelevant) Did you happen to reset "disable8dot3" and "disablelastaccess" in fsutil to 0 via CMD (if you read this and think "WTF?!" you probably haven't) Windows 7 comes with those settings enabled by default (by enabled, I mean enabled to disable) and seem to affect certain older programs designed to work in XP and below, not all but some, and makes those programs simply not start or have weird errors. SpywareBlaster is the only one I can think of right now. You could try disabling those two settings (again, I mean disabling the disabling, thus allowing 8dot3 naming and lastaccess timestamps) and see if you get different results or not. They are normally disabled for performance purposes, but seem to cause more trouble than they're worth (at least to me with standard hard drives, I've heard they cause problems with SSDs but I need to run through my sources to be sure about that). To do this you'll need to open up the c

It said to make sure the updates for the OS were installed. I installed all the updates that my OS (Windows 7) had available. http://forum.pj64-emu.com/showthread.php?t=2082 My computer restarted and now when I start up the Pj64, an Error message comes up saying "Direct 3D failed to initialize. Error Code: 8876086A. D3DERR_NOTAVAILABLE". After that, another Error message come up saying "The default or selected video plugin is missing or invalid. Check that you have at least one compatible plugin file in your plugin folder." Then it takes me to the Settings menu. I've removed it and installed it again, but the same http://www.emutalk.net/threads/52304-Direct3D-Failed-to-Initialize thing happened. I'm completely at a loss here. Could somebody please help? It seems, that your direct x is out of date, update it with the web installer to the most recent version. It would be clever, to use an all-in-one updater like this (x86 or x64) to have your system up-to-date The Future of Emulation: Emulate a High End Computer on a Low End System Main: Intel Core i7 (Lynnfiled) 860 (@3.802Ghz) | 8 GB DDR3-1333 | ATI XFX HD 5750 PCI-E | ATI High Definition Audio Device | 256 GB SSD + 3 TB Internal SATA2 + 4 TB external | Windows 7 Professional X64 SP1 MSDNAA Netbook: Asus EeePC 1015PEM | Intel Atom Dual Core N550 (1,5GHz) | 2GB DDR3-1066 | Intel GMA 3150 | 250GB HDD | Win 7 Starter Old One: AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200+ (2x2.5Ghz; S939) | MSI KbT Neo2-F V2.0 | 2x1GB Corsair Value VS1GBKIT400 | Radeon HD 3850 512 MB/AGP8x | Creative SB Audigy LS | 2TB (4x500GB SATA2 HDDs Raid0) | Windows 7 Business X64 SP1 MSDNAA Reply With Quote January 27th, 2011,20:40 #3 Jay Navi View
got the latest version of Project 64 but he is having a problem. Every time he loads up a ROM, he get the error codes "Failed to Initialize DirectX. Error Code 8876086A. D3DERR_NOTAVAILABLE". He has the latest drivers for his https://forum.romulation.net/threads/project-64-1-7-0-55-error.9728/ "nVidia GeForce Go 6100" Graphics card. And has the latest DirectX build. What should he do? P.S. He has Windows Vista 32-Bit OS. joe_yoshi, Aug 31, 2008 #1 anandjones Active Member Probably not compatible with that version of DirectX? Alright, he's trying right now. I'll keep you project 64 guys updated to see if it works or not. joe_yoshi, Aug 31, 2008 #3 joe_yoshi Member Ok, I'm back. So he tried DirectX Versions 9, 10, 7 and 8. None of them work... We were going through his driver's list a nd found something that may be going towards the not workingness of the PJ64 Emulator. His Coprocessor driver and his Mass Storage Controller driver are missing... could that be a problem or not? joe_yoshi, Aug 31, project 64 error 2008 #4 Loonylion Administrator Staff Member probably its not compatible with vista.
