Version of mysql is 5.1. the sql system we built consists of 8 sql nodes 2 data nodes and 1 management node. Our system is Active-active. One of our product's sql nodes had the error "Table is full". Somehow 4.5 million records were causing problem. so we decided to "truncate" the table. Truncate read only started but it didn't end even after a few hours. We terminated the process. Now when we connect to the sql node and try to insert update drop etc.. tables it gives "ERROR 1036 (HY000): Table 'table_name' is read only" error. The other sql node works fine. Is there any way to fix the troubled sql node? Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 05/03/2011 07:05AM by Nuri Burhanettin Sabuncu. read only - on a Guardium Appliance Technote (troubleshooting) Problem(Abstract) ERROR 1036 (HY000) at line 1: Table 'GUARD_USER_ACTIVITY_AUDIT' is read only - on a Guardium Appliance. You may see that error in conjunction with another error previously - ERROR 1040 (HY000): Too many connections Symptom at your cli command prompt or in some log files you see these errors ERROR 1036 (HY000) at line 1: Table 'GUARD_USER_ACTIVITY_AUDIT' is read only ERROR 1040 (HY000): Too many connections This combination has been noticed during a merge process on Aggregators - leaving the TURBINE merge tables wrongly defined such that they do not have the "INSERT_METHOD=LAST" phrase as part of the MERGE (MRG) table definition Cause It's possible that for some reason the maximum number of connections in the Guardium internal database is breached at or during a merge (part of the Data Import process) max_connections (default set to 1500) This then can leave the TURBINE merge tables wrongly defined such that they do not have the "INSERT_METHOD=LAST" phrase as part of the MERGE (MRG) table definition Resolving the problem Often - a "Run Once Now" of the Data Import (which performs a merge at the end) will rectify the problem -at least initially. If the problem happens often then IBM Security Systems Guardium Support can make some checks and follow some resetting of certain variables set for the Internal database to alleviate the problem. Details of this are available in the Internal Use definition of this Technote Customers should contact Technical Support stating this Technote IBM Security Systems Guardium Support should check the Internal Use Only section of this technote via Wellspring or the DCF database. Once IBM Security Systems Guardium Support make any variable settings change you can (and in any case ) keep a check on the total of all processes form time to time via the cli command support show db-processlist all ... etc ... Total of all processes: 41 Total of sleep processes: 40 If the number is high ( eg > 1200 ) then some timeout parameters can be set so that older Sleeping connections are terminated sooner.
