Why Is My Pdf Read Only
Sharepoint item cannot be deleted even with admin access SharePoint convert read only pdf to fillable > SharePoint 2013 - General Discussions and Questions Question 1 Sign in to vote I have a convert pdf to writable pdf online simple Word document in a folder on SharePoint in Office 365. I wanted to update that document but on checkout I get "The file ... is http://pdfedit.sourcearchive.com/documentation/0.3.2/qstreeitem_8cc-source.html locked for shared use by user@domain". The user in the mail switches to whoever is logged in.The problem happens with botha regular account and SharePoint admin account. On trying to Edit Properties -> Delete Item I get "Sorry, something went wrong The specified file is read only. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80071779)" On trying to https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/windows/en-US/eba86006-bcea-40df-ae0b-7acadead8601/sharepoint-item-cannot-be-deleted-even-with-admin-access?forum=sharepointgeneral right click and delete I get "Error The file is currently checked out or locked for editing by another user." I checked compliance - its Not on Hold or subject to retention. Nobody else has it checked out. What beats me is why can't an account with admin permissions delete the file. It can't even delete the folder in which this file is. On trying to Delete the folder it gives "Error Cannot complete this action. Please try again." and the links to "Troubleshoot issues with Microsoft SharePoint Foundation."generated as part of the error messagesare broken. I spent 1hr already with a Microsoft Service Rep and he tried many things including using the Explorer view to delete stuff, and moving the document to another library etc. but wasn't able to delete it. With explorer one gets the illusion that the document or folderis deleted but it comes right back on its own. Thursday, October 24, 2013 9:53 PM Reply
