Sql Developer Installation Steps
down vote favorite 1 I just wasted one morning trying to get SQL developer to work on my current setup: OS: Windows 8.1 virtual machine running on mac via Parallels. No oracle client or instant client installed No Java installed The reproducible steps are I downloaded SQL Developer for Windows with JDK (all 64-bit) and unzipped it to C:/Program Files/. I double clicked on C:/Program Files/sqldeveloper/sqldeveloper.exe I get the sql developer jdk path following message: Unable to launch the Java Virtual Machine Located at path: C:/Program Files/sqldeveloper/jdk/jre/bin/server/jvm.dll Can someone please help me? I also tried first installing Java 1.8 (64 bit) and then the SQL developer version without Java. This doesn't work either. When I select the location of the JDK home, it also sent one error message saying that it couldn't find any JVMs where I said. To add insult to injury, every time I follow this procedure, the Panda antivirus tells me that sqldeveloper is infected, deletes the file and encourages me to restart. Can someone please help me? I would mostly appreciate. Thank you very much in advance java windows-8.1 oracle-sqldeveloper share|improve this question asked Jul 2 '15 at 9:57 edd 1622314 Seems duplicate stackoverflow.com/questions/24390562/… –Kalyan Chavali Jul 2 '15 at 10:05 Although similar, both questions are not the same. I also tried everything they suggested and I still get the error. Note that it finds the jdk. It says it cannot launch it –edd Jul 2 '15 at 11:53 Does it indicate why it can't launch it - is there a details button, or a log? Do your VM memory settings allow for the SQL Developer config's J

How To Install Oracle Sql Developer On Windows 8
Framework WebRTC Oracle JET Overview Downloads Documentation Community Learn More What You See Is What You Get Element Windows Installation install sql developer ubuntu Notes There are two downloads available for Windows users.Windows 64-bit with JDK 8 Included: This archive includes both SQL Developer and an embedded copy of the Java 8 Development Kit (JDK). http://stackoverflow.com/questions/31181438/sql-developer-with-jdk-64-bit-cannot-find-jvm Simply extract the zip to a fresh directory and run the sqldeveloper.exe in the top directory. The EXE is configured to run the embedded JDK by default.Note: the Windows EXE requires a MSVCR100.dll to run. Most computers will already have this file and in the Windows PATH. However, if the first copy of the file found by the EXE is a 32-bit copy of the DLL, http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/sql-developer/downloads/sqldev-install-windows-1969674.html then SQL Developer will fail to start. You can fix this by copying a 64-bit version of the DLL into the BIN directory or updating your OS PATH such that a 64 bit copy of the DLL is found first.Windows 32-bit/64-bit: This archive. will work on a 32 or 64 bit Windows OS. The bit level of the JDK you install will determine if it runs as a 32 or 64 bit application. This download does not include the required Java 8 JDK. You will need to install it if it's not already on your machine. If SQL Developer cannot find Java on your machine, it will prompt you for the path for a JDK home. This only occurs the first timeyou launch SQL Developer. I've got a new laptop with oracle sql developer 64bit Windows 7. I've downloaded the latest SqlDeveloper 3 64 bit without the JDK (because that's the only choice I had) from OTN. I clicked on the link in the SQLDeveloper download section for the latest JDK and I downloaded the 64 bit version (jdk-6u26-windows-x64.exe). I have installed the jdk-6u26-windows-x64.exe application which created several different java.exe files....however, regardless of which java.exe I try i get the same "Cannot find a J2Se SDK installed at..." error message. Please, can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong ? This doesn't seem like it should be this complicated but apparently I've hosed up something. Thanks in advance to those that help !
