Anybody can answer The best answers are voted up and rise to the top System error 1219 has occurred up vote 22 down vote favorite 6 I am trying to connect to a remote server and deploy a service there, through a deploy script. I start by stating "Net use" and send the credentials for the server. But here I get system 1219 error: net use system error 1219 Multiple connections to a server or shared resource by the same user, using more than one user name, are not allowed. Disconnect all previous connections to the server or shared resource and try again. I am not aware that I have any connections other than this one to the server. I have tried net "use /delete" but was told that no connections were open to the server. Error 1219 Multiple Connections To A Server
ask a question Anybody can answer The best answers are voted up and rise to the top Net Use Error 1219 - I just want to mount a network share up vote 5 down vote favorite 1 When I log into http://serverfault.com/questions/57877/system-error-1219-has-occurred windows, my system maps a few drives from our server's shares. I have a backup script that I want to run and it maps a few more drives just for the script and then unmaps them when done. I'm running the following to map: net use z: "\server\share1" /user:myuser password It then says System error 1219 has occurred. Multiple connections to a server or shared resource by the same user, using more than one user name, are not allowed. etc Thing is, I'm http://superuser.com/questions/730979/net-use-error-1219-i-just-want-to-mount-a-network-share using the same user for everything. Why would it give me this error and how do I fix this? I'm using Windows Server 2008 R2 with this script. networking backup windows-server-2008-r2 net-use share|improve this question asked Mar 19 '14 at 16:35 user277244 1162415 Try using net use without parameters, see if it lists any other connection to that server you might need to delete first –kenkh Mar 19 '14 at 16:38 net use reports back all of my shares with all saying status is ok –user277244 Mar 19 '14 at 16:39 1 I would do a net use /delete * and re-run the script to make sure that no other shares were mapped with another user. –shinjijai Mar 19 '14 at 16:45 Error 1219 is "Multiple connections to a server or shared resource by the same user, using more than one user name, are not allowed. Disconnect all previous connections to the server or shared resource and try again." Just FYI. –Angstrom Mar 21 '14 at 22:49 add a comment| 2 Answers 2 active oldest votes up vote 6 down vote Since at least Windows NT 4.0, only a single set of user credentials can be used for a single server name, where the server name is determined when mapping the resource (e.g. the server in \server\share). If using the same set of user credentials is acceptable, the additional server share can be successfully mapped by not specifying the user name

user’ Error Tweet March 2, 2015 by Mitch Bartlett 6 Comments Filed Under: Windows Tagged: win7, Windows 2008, Windows 2012, Windows 8 When mapping a drive in Microsoft Windows, you may receive an error that says: The mapped network drive could not be created because the following error has occurred: Multiple connections to a server or shared resource by the same user, using more than one user name are not allowed. Disconnect all previous connections to the server or shared resource and try again. Clicking "OK" yielded another error. The network folder specified is currently mapped using a different user name and password. To connect using a different user name and password, first disconnect any existing mappings to this network share. To solve this problem, try the following steps: Select the "Start" button, then type "cmd". Right-click the "Command Prompt" option, then choose "Run as administrator". Type "net use", then press "Enter". Look for any drives listed that may be questionable. In many cases where this problem occurs, the drive may not be assigned a letter. You'll want to remove that drive. From the Command Prompt, type "net use /delete \\servername\foldername" where the servername\foldername is the drive that you wish to delete. In some extreme cases, you may want to simply use the command "net use * /delete". This will delete all mapped drives though, so be careful that you know what you're doing.
