by: system error 126 SQL Server > SQL Server Tools Question 0 Sign in to vote I'm getting this error when trying to run Query AnalyzerServer Msg 160, Level 16, State 1. Specified driver https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/260558 could not be loaded due to system error 126 (SQL Server)This is a new SQL Server 2000 install on a PC that has had different versions of SQL Server installed previously, including 2005. I'm assuming this has to do with an incomplete uninstall. Is there a fix or workaround for this? Friday, September 16, 2005 5:24 PM Reply | Quote Answers 5 Sign in to vote Got it! Second try, I replaced the key and the file and that got it.All that before 12 noon PST. Phew! Monday, September 19, 2005 7:18 PM Reply | Quote 0 Sign in to vote Thank you!!! I had a similar problem after a power hit, and based on your info, found the sqlsrv32.dll file missing as well. Grabbed one off another system, and problem was solved. Thanks again!PS: Gotta love Google for help finding stuff like this!Dwaine Marked as answer by Kalman TothEditor Saturday, November 21, 2009 5:27 PM Thursday, December 08, 2005 10:41 PM Reply | Quote 0 Sign in to vote Had the same problem. I found that driver and setup key under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\ODBC\ODBCINST.INI\SQL Server pointed to c:\winnt instead of c:\windows. Changed them both to c:\windows\..... and voila I can now access my SQL server...
