The Trailing Cable has been incorrectly connected OR the fuse in the Electronics Module has been burned. Corrective Action: Turn the Printer OFF and disconnect the trailing cable. Check that the ends of the Trailing Cable are flat and are not damaged or bent. Reconnect the Trailing Cable correctly, making sure it is pushed in firmly. Do the resistance test. Power ON the Printer and check if the Error Code disappears. If the Error Code continues, replace the Main Logic Board Note: The logic board is a direct replacement for the Designjet 1050C Plus and 1055CM Plus. If the plotter you are repairing is the Designjet 1050C (not Plus) you will also need to replace the memory and the firmware. If you are repairing a Designjet 1055CM (not Plus) you will have to replace the Hard Disk Drive also. The firmware is identical for the 1050C Plus and 1055CM Plus Note: The aerosol fan is not used in the Designjet 1050C Plus or 1055CM Plus. Coil the cable out of the way or completely remove the fan. WARNING TAKE CARE WHEN CONNECTING THE TRAILING CABLE TO THE ELECTRONICS MODULE OR CARRIAGE. INCORRECT INSTALLATION WILL BURN THE FUSE IN THE ELECTRONICS MODULE, CAUSING THE COMPLETE FAILURE AND REPLACEMENT OF THE LOGIC BOARD. 100 OHMS OR HIGHER MUST BE SEE
there. I tried talking to HP but the machine is no longer supported by them. The service manual is saying the fuse on the emod may be blown. Is this repairable or is the emod the most likely cause?Any ideas?Tia Walter Respond to http://fixyourownprinter.com/posts/42112 this 0 Depends on what version emod you have. Above where the 3 cables connect is either a round thingy or a fuse in a holder. It will be a very small fuse. If a fuse, then you can replace it. If there is no fuse then the complete emod will have to be replaced. The new version emods come with fuses and they pack a couple of extra ones with them. You have to be very very careful when connecting the system error trailing cable to the emod as one which is inserted incorrectly or if the metal tips bend and touch another you can short out the emod. The same is true at the carriage end but usually it is at the emod connection where the trouble is. The last cable I had to replace, lucky for me had the fused emod since even with all the times I have done it, this time I made a mistake and blew the fuse. There are also system error 0b0006 two posts on either side where you can use a ohm meter where you should get a reading which will slowly go back down to 0. If it shows a short, then the cable is not inserted correctly. by dmzcompute on Oct 31, 2006 at 3:05pm Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 This is what went down. I was called to replace the belt, like 100 times before. I reassembled and did not notice that one of the flat cables that plugs into the carriage was faulty. When I rebooted I got the error 0B0006. When I took the carriage back apart I noticed the cable had lost the stiffening pieces on the end. I tried to "make" the cable work (flattening and pushing) into the slot, and on reboot got the same error. I then installed the new trailing cable the next day and the error was still there. What impact does the cable (new and old) have to do at the carriage end of the machine? This machine is the "A" model. I'm trying to do everything I can to avoid having to put in a new emod. Anymore info you might have on this? I'm going to try to post on the HP forum online since this is the only way to contact HP about this model (1055) anymore.TAWalter by walter9999 on Nov 1, 2006 at 7:14am Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 It does not matter which end causes
