Community Ask a Question Today's Posts Blue Screen: Error code100000d1 Bybsearles Jun 8, 2008 Hello all, After investigating this on my own, I'm finally to the point where I think I need some outside help. I'm getting blue screened fairly often (Windows XP SP2), have swapped out memory/changed slots, have even reverted to an old ghosted error 1000000a hard drive from 6 months ago, and am still having the problem. It happens fairly randomly, although I can always guarantee it will happen with running a full scan (mcafee, spybot, ad-aware). Details: Error code 100000d1, parameter1 00000000, parameter2 00000002, parameter3 00000001, parameter4 a9997cd7 Dump file is attached. Any help would be very much appreciated, and I can provide additional info if needed. best, -Brad Jun 8, 2008 #1 bsearles TS Rookie Topic Starter Another error / crash / dump file Message deleted. It can also be caused by faulty or mismatched RAM, or a damaged pagefile. The driver cited was afd.sys which is a core Windows driver which at this point

In researching this problem a number of people listed bad RAM as a possibility, so I ran Memtest86 overnight with no errors reported. I followed the instructions in a previous post on this site and created a debuglog.txt file from the output of the minidump file with symbols. https://www.experts-exchange.com/questions/21826937/Random-XP-crashes-with-Event-ID-1003-error-code-100000d1.html It is attached below. Any idea what my problem is? It always seems to crash when I have something important to complete or in the middle of and I loose my work. I'm running XP Pro. I've read other post and it seems the best thing I can start with is the error code and the minidump file. This is an nVidia graphics driver. First thing to do is to uninstall your video drivers event id 1003 in Device Manager, reboot and re-install them, preferably an updated version. For Device Manger go to Start => Run and type in "devmgmt.msc" {without the quotes}. Your video card is in Display Adapters. Right-click to Uninstall. BUT make sure you have the drivers on hand first. Claymore, Feb 7, 2009 #2 Tac42 Thread Starter Joined: Feb 7, 2009 Messages: 7 Thanks for your help. I did as you instructed and I had a few unexpected problems. First I went to NVDIA web site and selected option 2 automatically find drivers for my NVIDIA products. After installing active X it told me I need to contact my original manufacture to get the driver. I did this and the latest version Systemax had on there web site was: NVIDIA Display Driver for Windows 2000/XP version 44.67, 06/13/2003 This one is pretty old so I searched for the latest driver for NVIDIA GeForce 6600 GT and found this one: NVIDIA 1/14/2009 6.14.11.8122 I un-installed my current version and restarted my computer. When my computer restarted it took a long time at the windows screen (the blue bar eventually stopped) and then restarted on its own. It went to the windows boot menu, I selected start windows normally. The same thing happened. This time at the windows boot menu I selected start in safe mode. After a long load time it started in safe mode. It gave me a message windows has completed

You may have a bad RAM try to test your RAM by running Memtest by downloading this tool and unzip it and make a floppy or CD/DVD and run it on Reboot. http://oca.microsoft.com/en/windiag.asp You may need to reposition/reset the RAM sticks in their slots. After that you could do a repair install, and then test. Open a Notepad, customize or minimize to the taskbar as you will need it later for this step to copy the error message on it. Open a run command and type in: eventvwr.msc click [OK] you will get the Event viewer control Panel. click on each of these: Application System Security Look in the right Pane/window for error message with red (X) or Yellow exclamation mark /!\ , double click each one to get more info about the causer. On the Event error properties message you will see: Up Arrow Down arrow Two pages Click on the two pages to copy the error message then bring up the Notepad you opened earlier and right click on the first line and select Paste from the list, this will paste the error message on a Notepad. Please don't duplicate the error message one of each kind will be sufficient. HOW TO: View and Manage Event Logs in Event Viewer in Windows XP http://support.microsoft.com/kb/308427/en-us Please we need just the error messages with Red (X) and don't repeat the error, just one of each kind and post them back in your next post.
