target domain, error: ADMT Error: ADMT is unable to connect to domain controller \\fqdn, in domain fqdn, the specified network name is no longer available. (0x80070040) i tried to ping the PDC of target domain, it success we are using windows server 2003, ADMT version 3.0 anyone here can help? thanks Thursday, June 30, system error 53 has occurred windows 8 2011 4:53 AM Reply | Quote Answers 0 Sign in to vote The error is pointing either towards DNS name resolution issue or port blockage issue. Ping can't verify the ports, you can use telnet also but portquery will give you clear idea of filtered ports. Check name resolution using Nslookup tool, but i have strong feeling its a firewall/network issue because of the (0x80070040) error code. Use portquery tool to check if all the required ports are opened. http://blogs.technet.com/b/abizerh/archive/2009/06/11/troubleshooting-rpc-server-is-unavailable-error-reported-in-failing-ad-replication-scenario.aspx Regards Awinish Vishwakarma| CHECK MY BLOG Disclaimer: This posting is provided AS-IS with no warranties or guarantees and confers no rights. I pointed DNS and WINS to the source DC, and I can ping the DC by name. When tried to run ADMT, I received “Network path Not Found (Error code=53, Domain=sourcedomain). Then I joined my laptop to the source DC and logon the source domain. Tried again. This time I got the same error but the domain=targetdomain. I tried to logon target (since both domains trust each other), still received the same error. Any ideas?
