Netwrok drive utility or using the command line. Either way works fine. However, If I take the command I put in the command line and put it in a https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/843156 dos batch file, the command fails with System Error 67. The command I am using is: Net use y: http://myoffice.company.net/international/sales/Shared%20Documents1//a> This works from command line but not when run from a batch file. any ideas? I have tried using the IP address instead but the same error comes up. Posted on 2010-07-13 Windows XP 1 Verified Solution 3 Comments 3,859 Views Last Modified: 2013-11-05 I'm working on an issue for a client that involved mapping a local USB printer so an old DOS program can print to this. I've done this before and it has always been successful. I follow this set of instructions: http://geekswithblogs.net/dtotzke/articles/26204.aspx and I've gotten it to work before. However, this time I can't seem to do it. 1) All firewalls are disabled (even windows) 2) I can connect to my own PC by typing in \\michael 3) I can use NET USE M: \\michael\c$ /persistent:yes without an issue 4) The server and workstation service is running. They have both been rebooted as well. 5) Not only am I positive that I have the correct share name in the command I am using, but I have tested other printers as well. 6) To verify I have the correct share name, I typed NET VIEW \\MICHAEL and copied the printer name when typing the command. 7) His PC is windows 7 x64, mine is windows XP, and I've gotten it to work on Windows 7 and XP before. The command I type verbatim is: NET USE LTP1: "\\michael\BRO" /persistent:yes The result: System error 67 has occurred. The network name cannot be found. Further, when typing NET VIEW the result is: Server Name Remark ------------------------------------- \\MICHAEL The command completed successfully. When typing NET VIEW \\MICHAEL Shared resources at \\michael Share name Type Used as Comment ---------------------------------------- BRO Print Brother B&W The command completed successfully. At this point, I have a work around to the issue (the customer has a laptop) but I don't know why I have gotten this to work before but can't on his workstation or my own. Any suggestions? 0 Question by:infinitous Facebook Twitter LinkedIn Google LVL 1 Best Solution byinfinitous I figured it out. I was typing NET USE LTP1: "\\michael\BRO" /persistent:yes The correct command is NET USE LPT1: "\\michael\BRO" /persistent:yes Note the difference: LTP and LPT Go to Solution 3 Comments LVL 11 Overall: Level 11 Windows XP 6 Message Expert Comment by:kaskhedikar_tushar2010-07-13 Hello, For m
