it told me to update windows which didn't fix it. Google shows a lot of other people with the same problem, but all the responses they get are standard suggestions like updating windows, checking the help files etc. Yahoo answers even suggested updating Acrobat in case the error is caused by trying to save a PDF. The only ellucidation I could find from Google is someone who saw the error from a Powerpoint macro, he deleted an unused

UserForm from the project then it let him save the file. My macro/workspace/workbook or whatever it's called only has one userform so that won't work for me. But it implies there's something in the GUI of that userform that's causing the problem- does anyone know what it is? Does anyone know anything about this error? Please help me. No I haven't changed any settings recently. No there aren't any other macros running (I haven't even run the offending macro in weeks, just edited it) All it is is a single Userform that doesn't even have any code yet, just the GUI controls. A couple of TabControls, Panels, Buttons, Labels and Radiobuttons. No databases, no hyperlinks, no binding of controls, nothing fancy. Just GUI. Why is it breaking? Today when I went to view my code it says "Project is unviewable" Then it says System http://www.mrexcel.com/forum/excel-questions/498842-system-error-h80004005-2147467259-a.html Error &h80004005 (-2147467259). Unspecified error". I have done some searching, but haven't been able to decipher this error. I have not changed anything on the computer since I last opened this file (yesterday). It just seems that Excel decided to lock my code. The macros seem to work fine from the sheet, I just can't view or edit them anymore. Is there anyway to correct this error? I do have an older version of this file that works fine, but I have made some changes to this version that I will have to recreate. Any ideas? I have a macro based workbook - fairly big about 1650 KB - and a fair number of user forms (roughly 30). Fairly frequently I am getting a system error which I have copied to the attached system error &h8000 Word document. I cannot see any consistent state that triggers the error but I wonder if it is related to auto recover. Any clues or guidance would be most welecome!! This error is often caused by a problem with one or more forms. Couple of alternatives... (1) Post the file here. (2) Export and delete all forms, save and close the file. Recycle Excel, open the file and reimport all forms. Regards, Brian. 0 Message Author Comment by:NormanMitchell2012-12-07 Hi Brian, Thankyou for the prompt response. I deleted all the user forms and re-imported them as you suggested but the error still appears from time to time. I tghink it m

Upon executing my macro, a pop-up message said "System Error &H8000FFFF (-2147418113). Catastrophic Failure" After he hit ok, a second message said "Out of Memory". After clearing that message, the file closed. So, what is this error and is there anything I can do in my macro to avoid this? My workbook contains 2 user forms - one is the actual form, the other one is used for designing the actual form. While designing, i ran into this "catastrophic" error. WHAT I DID TO FIX: Since I had one extra form at the time (which was NOT my actual form), i tried to R-click > Delete this extra form... didn't delete. Actually, it made Excel bomb and restart itself. !!! WHEN EXCEL RESTARTED ITSELF, IT FIXED THIS ISSUE !!! When i looked at my form after the restart of excel, everything was the way i last designed it to. All good! try to delete an existing form you have one to do it with (this restarted my excel and it worked great). Before, not only could i NOT save (as xlsm) as ANY name, but i also could NOT export the file either (or anything for that matter).
